Psalms 16:10

• [Psa 16:10] Ye Men Of Israel, Hear

  Ye men of Israel, hear The words of truth and grace, Jesus did in the flesh appear To save a sinking race; A Man of God approved, By signs and wonders known, Jesus, the Father’s well-beloved, The co-eternal Son. The Prince of Life and Peace, By Heav’n’s supreme decree Delivered up, ye dared to seize, And nail Him to the tree; Taken by wicked hands, And crucified and slain; But God hath loosed the mortal bands, And raised Him up again. It was not possible That death should keep his Prey; God would not leave His soul in hell, Or let His flesh decay: His flesh reposed in hope Of the third joyful morn, And then the Father raised Him up, And God again was born. This Jesus is restored To life by power divine; We all proclaim our living Lord, And in His praises join: We are His witnesses, He is gone up on high, Exalted to His native place, He lives no more to die. Again at God’s right hand Our Lord is called to sit, Till all who now His sway withstand Are crushed beneath His feet: Be it to Israel’s seed, To every sinner known, God hath performed His oath indeed, Hath glorified His Son. Sinners, believe He died, And rose to buy your peace; Jesus the Christ, the Crucified, The Lord of Life confess; Repent in Jesus’ Name, Believe and be forgiven, And take the Holy Ghost ye claim, And rise with us to Heaven.

  When in the night I meditate, On mercies multiplied, My grateful heart inspires my tongue To bless the Lord, my Guide. Forever in my thought the Lord Before my face shall stand, Secure, unmoved, I shall remain, With Him at my right hand. My inmost being thrills with joy And gladness fills my breast; Because on Him my trust is stayed, My flesh in hope shall rest. I know that I shall not be left Forgotten in the grave, And from corruption, Thou, O Lord, Thy holy one wilt save. The path of life Thou showest me; Of joy a boundless store Is ever found at Thy right hand, And pleasures evermore.

Psalms 103:13

• [Psa 103:13] Like As A Father

  When silent falls the gushing tear, O’er cheeks grown pale with care; And on the heart a cross is laid That seems too hard to bear, Remember what our Lord has said, And trust, in weal or woe, His holy Word, that changeth not, Though uttered years ago. Refrain “Like as a father pitieth His children, So the Lord pitieth them that fear Him, So the Lord pitieth them that fear Him.” When one by one our treasured hopes Like autumn leaves decay, And they who made our life most dear Are borne from us away, O look beyond the veil of time, Where springs of comfort flow, And trust His Word, that changeth not, Though uttered years ago. Refrain The clouds that bode the darkest hour The purest light may bring; The heart that mourns its broken chords The sweetest song may sing; Though oft a rugged path we tread, Yet this one thing we know, God’s holy Word can never change, Though uttered years ago.   The tender love a father has For all his children dear, Such love the Lord bestows on them Who worship Him in fear. The Lord remembers we are dust, And all our frailty knows; Man’s days are like the tender grass, And as the flower he grows. The flower is withered by the wind That smites with blighting breath; So man is quickly swept away Before the blast of death. Unchanging is the love of God, From age to age the same, Displayed to all who do His will And reverence His Name. Those who His gracious cov’nant keep The Lord will ever bless; Their children’s children shall rejoice To see His righteousness.

• [Psa 146:6] O Maker Of The Sea And Sky

  O Maker of the sea and sky, Whose word the stormy winds fulfill, On the wide ocean Thou art nigh, Bidding these hearts of ours be still. What if Thy footsteps are not known? W know Thy way is in the sea; We trace the shadow of Thy throne, Constant amid inconstancy. Thou bidd’st the north or south wind blow; The lonely sea bird is Thy care; And in the clouds which come and go, We see Thy chariots everywhere. The sun that lights the homeland dear Spreads the new morning o’er the deep; And in the dark Thy stars appear, Keeping their watches while we sleep. And so, secure from all alarms, Thy seas beneath, Thy skies above, Clasped in the everlasting arms, We rest in Thine unslumbering love.
