Psalms 149:1-9

[Psa 149:1] O Praise Ye The Lord
O praise ye the Lord! praise Him in the height;
Rejoice in His Word, ye angels of light;
Ye heavens, adore Him by Whom ye were made,
And worship before Him in brightness arrayed.O praise ye the Lord! Praise Him upon earth,
In tuneful accord, ye sons of new birth;
Praise Him Who hath brought you His grace from above,
Praise Him Who hath taught you to sing of His love.O praise ye the Lord! All things that give sound;
Each jubilant chord re-echo around;
Loud organs, His glory forth tell in deep tone,
And sweet harp, the story of what He hath done.O praise ye the Lord! Thanksgiving and song
To Him be outpoured all ages along!
For love in creation, for Heaven restored,
For grace of salvation, O praise ye the Lord!O praise ye the Lord and sing a new song,
Amid all His saints His praises prolong;
The praise of their Maker His people shall sing,
And children of Zion rejoice in their King.With timbrel and harp and joyful acclaim,
With gladness and mirth, sing praise to His Name,
For God in His people His pleasure doth seek,
With robes of salvation He clotheth the meek.In glory exult, ye saints of the Lord;
With songs in the night, high praises accord;
Go forth in His service, be strong in His might,
To conquer all evil and stand for the right.For this is His Word: His saints shall not fail,
But over the earth their power shall prevail;
All kingdoms and nations shall yield to their sway.
To God give the glory and praise Him for aye.Play source: Cyberhymnal -
[Psa 149:1] Redeemed, Restored, Forgiven
Redeemed, restored, forgiven,
Through Jesus’ precious blood,
Heirs of His home in heaven,
Oh, praise our pardoning God!
Praise Him in tuneful measures
Who gave His Son to die;
Praise Him Whose sev’nfold treasures
Enrich and sanctify.Once on the dreary mountain
We wandered far and wide,
Far from the cleansing fountain,
Far from the piercèd side;
But Jesus sought and found us
And washed our guilt away;
With cords of love He bound us
To be His own for aye.Dear Master, Thine the glory
Of each recovered soul,
Ah! who can tell the story
Of love that made us whole?
Not ours, not ours, the merit;
Be Thine alone the praise
And ours a thankful spirit
To serve Thee all our days.Now keep us, holy Savior,
In Thy true love and fear
And grant us of Thy favor
The grace to persevere
Till, in Thy new creation,
Earth’s time-long travail o’er,
We find our full salvation
And praise Thee evermore.Play source: Cyberhymnal -
[Psa 149:1] Sing To The Lord A Joyful Song
Sing to the Lord a joyful song,
Lift up your hearts, your voices raise;
To us His gracious gifts belong,
To Him our songs of love and praise.For life and love, for rest and food,
For daily help and nightly care,
Sing to the Lord, for He is good,
And praise His Name, for it is fair.For strength to those who on Him wait,
His truth to prove, His will to do,
Praise ye our God, for He is great,
Trust in His Name, for it is true.For joys untold, that from above
Cheer those who love His sweet employ,
Sing to our God, for He is love,
Exalt His Name, for it is joy.For He is Lord of Heav’n and earth,
Whom angels serve and saints adore,
The Father, Son, and Holy Ghost,
To Whom be praise forevermore.Play source: Cyberhymnal -
[Psa 149:1] Ye Who His Temple Throng
Ye who His temple throng, Jehovah’s praise prolong,
New anthems sing;
Ye saints with joy declare, your Maker’s loving care
And let the children there joy in their King.O let His Name employ your every note of joy,
His praises speak;
He looks with loving face upon His chosen race,
And will with every grace adorn the meek.Ye saints your joy proclaim and glory in the Name
Of God above;
And when the daylight dies, ere sleep shall close your eyes,
Let praise to God arise for all His love.Play source: Cyberhymnal -
[Psa 149:2] All The Happy Children
All the happy children, gladly join our song,
Rising to the Father, in a chorus strong.
Birds are brightly singing, leaves are opening wide,
Flower bells are ringing forth on every side.Refrain
All the happy children, gladly join our song,
Rising to the Father, in a chorus strong.See the sky above us, spread so warm and blue,
So God’s love is reaching over me and you.
Father, dear we thank Thee for long summer days,
For the birds and flowers, for the grassy ways.Refrain
All the happy children thank Thee, Father dear,
For this day for children out of all the year.
We will still remember we are Thine alone;
He Who made the summer made us every one.Refrain

[Psa 149:2] Praise Ye Jehovah (taylor)
Praise ye Jehovah, praise the Lord most holy,
Who cheers the contrite, girds with strength the weak;
Praise Him Who will with glory crown the lowly,
And with salvation beautify the meek.Refrain
Praise Him for His constant care,
His ever present love;
Praise Him, for He hears our prayer,
And answers from above.
Praise God the Father, praise the ever blessèd Son,
Praise God the Spirit, praise the Three in One.Praise ye the Lord for all His loving kindness,
And all the tender mercies He hath shown;
Praise Him Who pardons all our sin and blindness,
And calls us sons, and takes us for His own.Refrain
Praise ye Jehovah! source of every blessing—
Before His gifts earth’s richest boons are dim;
Resting in Him, His peace and joy possessing,
All things are ours, for we have all in Him.Refrain
Praise ye the Father! God the Lord Who gave us,
With full and perfect love His only Son;
Praise ye the Son Who died Himself to save us!
Praise ye the Spirit! praise the Three in One!Refrain

[Psa 149:2] When The King Shall Come!
Oh, the weary night is waning,
And the clouds are rolling by;
See, the long expected morning
Now is dawning in the sky;
When from Zion’s lofty mountain
We shall hear the watchmen cry,
And rejoicing we shall gather
When the King shall come.Refrain
O Zion! O Zion!
Great will be Thy triumph
When the King shall come;
O Zion! O Zion!
Thou shalt be exalted
When the King shall come.When the ransomed of Jehovah,
From the East and from the West,
Shall return with joy and gladness,
To receive the promised rest—
Then shall every tribe and nation
Out of every land be blessed,
And rejoicing they shall gather
When the King shall come.Refrain
May He find us, when He cometh,
Faithful watchers, day and night,
At our royal post of duty,
With our armor shining bright;
May our lamps be trimmed and burning
With a clear and steady light,
That rejoicing we may gather
When the King shall come.Refrain

[Psa 149:5] All Ye That Love The Lord, Rejoice
All ye that love the Lord, rejoice,
And let your songs be new;
Amidst the church with cheerful voice
His later wonders show.The Jews, the people of His grace,
Shall their Redeemer sing;
And Gentile nations join the praise,
While Sion owns her King.The Lord takes pleasure in the just,
Whom sinners treat with scorn;
The meek that lie despised in dust
Salvation shall adorn.Saints should be joyful in their King,
E’en on a dying bed;
And like the souls in glory sing;
For God shall raise the dead.Then His high praise shall fill their tongues
Their hands shall wield the sword;
And vengeance shall attend their songs,
The vengeance of the Lord.When Christ the judgment-seat ascends,
And bids the world appear,
Thrones are prepared for all His friends
Who humbly loved Him here.Then shall they rule with iron rod
Nations that dared rebel;
And join the sentence of their God
On tyrants doomed to hell.The royal sinners bound in chains
New triumphs shall afford:
Such honor for the saints remains:
Praise ye, and love the Lord!Play source: Cyberhymnal -
[Psa 149:5] Saints Of God! Lo, Jesu’s People
Saints of God! Lo, Jesu’s people
Age to age your glory tell;
In His Name for us ye labored,
Now in bless eternal dwell.Twelve poor men, by Christ anointed,
Braved the rich, the wise, the great,
All the world counts dear rejecting,
Rapt in their apostolate.Thus the earth their death-wounds purchased,
Hallowed by the blood therefrom,
On her bosom bore the nations,
Laved, illumined—Christendom.On this feast, almighty Father,
May we praise Thee with the Son,
Evermore His love confessing,
Who from Both with Both is One.Play source: Cyberhymnal -
[Psa 149:5] There Is Glory In My Soul
Since I lost my sins and I found my Savior,
There is glory in my soul!
Since by faith I sought and obtained God’s favor,
There is glory in my soul!Refrain
There is glory, glory, there is glory in my soul!
Ev’ry day brighter grows,
And I conquer all my foes;
There is glory, glory, there is glory in my soul!
There is glory in my soul!Since He cleansed my heart, gave me sight for blindness,
There is glory in my soul!
Since He touched and healed me in loving kindness
There is glory in my soul!Refrain
Since with God I’ve walked, having sweet communion,
There is glory in my soul!
Brighter grows each day in this heav’nly union,
There is glory in my soul!Refrain
Since I entered Canaan on my way to Heaven,
There is glory in my soul!
Since the day my life to the Lord was given,
There is glory in my soul!Refrain

[Psa 149:5] There Is A Happy Land
There is a happy land, far, far away,
Where saints in glory stand, bright, bright as day.
Oh, how they sweetly sing, worthy is our Savior King,
Loud let His praises ring, praise, praise for aye.Come to that happy land, come, come away;
Why will ye doubting stand, why still delay?
Oh, we shall happy be, when from sin and sorrow free,
Lord, we shall live with Thee, blest, blest for aye.Bright, in that happy land, beams every eye;
Kept by a Father’s hand, love cannot die.
Oh, then to glory run; be a crown and kingdom won;
And, bright, above the sun, we reign for aye.Play source: Cyberhymnal -
[Psa 149:6] O Lord, ’tis Matter Of High Praise
O Lord, ’tis matter of high praise,
Thy Word on us doth shine,
But happy they who feel its rays,
And glorious power divine.O let poor sinners feel their sin
Prick them, as with a sword;
And purge out all that filth within;
So will we praise Thy Word.Enlightened souls have cause to sing,
Who wounded were by Thee;
True cause of joy to such doth spring;
For they, Lord, healèd be.And now in robes most richly decked,
They to the King are brought;
Surpassing angels, for have they
A robe so richly wrought.We therefore throw our crowns below
Thy high and glorious throne;
And must all say, both night and day,
Thou worthy art alone,All glory, power, and praise to have,
By us forevermore;
Thus let us sing unto our King,
And Him in heart adore.Play source: Cyberhymnal
