• [Psa 113:5] O Thou Who Dwell’st On High

  O Thou Who dwell’st on high, ’Mid burning seraphs bright, Pavilioned in the azure sky, Robed with celestial light: Permit us to draw near, And worship and adore; Redeemed from sin and guilt and fear, Thy blessing we implore. Thou high and holy Lord, Before Whom seraphs fall With faces veiled and spirits awed, And Thee thrice holy call: We fall before Thy feet, Unworthy to draw near, E’en though before Thy mercy seat Thou call’st us to appear. Hear Thou the prayer we bring; Regard Thy children’s need; Accept the hymns of praise we sing, And to our vows give heed. We seek Thee in Thy Son, Who died our souls to save— The crucified but risen One, Triumphant o’er the grave. Through Him, our great High Priest Before the heav’nly throne, We seek redemption’s power and peace— Peace to the world unknown; Seeking, we find Thee near To bless with every grace And make us meet, when Thou appear, To see Thee face to face.

• [Psa 116:5] O Gracious God, Whose Constant Care

  O gracious God, whose constant care Supplies our golden days, Whose joyous fellowship we share At work, at rest, in play and prayer— Accept our heartfelt praise. We thank Thee, Father, for each word, Each thought-revealing truth, For prophet voices gladly heard, For darling dreams, for friends who stirred The fragile wills of youth. Companion of this sacred hour, Renew in us each day Our lofty purpose; grant us power That worthy thoughts in deeds may flower, In Christlike lives, we pray.

Psalms 135:2

• [Psa 135:2] House Of Our God

  House of our God, with hymns of gladness ring, While all our lips and hearts His praises sing; The opening year His mercies shall proclaim, And all its days shall celebrate His Name. Ye angel choirs on high, whose dwelling place Shines with the glory of His unveiled face, Through your immortal life, as love still grows, Tell of His goodness, which no ending knows. O Earth, enlightened by His rays divine, Stored by His hand with corn and oil and wine, Crowned with His goodness, let thy nations raise From shore to shore the song of ceaseless praise. O Church, His chosen dwelling and delight, Graven on His hands, and precious in His sight, Sing the deep marvels of that boundless grace Which sheds on thee the brightness of His face. Burst into praise, my soul; and evermore Through changing life thy changeless God adore: He is thy Trust, thy Refuge, and thy Fear; Strong in His strength, begin the new-born year.
