• [Psa 14:1] Fools In Their Heart Believe And Say

  Fools in their heart believe and say, “That all religion’s vain; There is no God that reigns on high, Or minds th’affairs of men.” From thoughts so dreadful and profane, Corrupt discourse proceeds; And in their impious hands are found Abominable deeds. The Lord from His celestial throne Looked down on things below, To find the man that sought His grace, Or did His justice know. By nature all are gone astray, Their practice all the same; There’s none that fears his Maker’s hand; There’s none that loves His Name. Their tongues are used to speak deceit, Their slanders never cease; How swift to mischief are their feet, Nor know the paths of peace! Such seeds of sin—that bitter root— In every heart are found; Nor can they bear diviner fruit Till grace refine the ground.

• [Psa 14:1] God Who Sits Enthroned On High, The

  The God Who sits enthroned on high The foolish to their heart deny; Not one does good; corrupt in thought, Unrighteous works their hands have wrought. From heaven the Lord with searching eye Looked down the sons of men to try, To see if any understood And sought for God, the only Good. From righteousness they all depart, Corrupt are all, and vile in heart; Yea, every man has evil done; Not one does good, not even one. Has knowledge with the wicked failed, That they My people have assailed, That they delight in works of shame, And call not on Jehovah’s Name? Thy lowly servant they despise, Because he on the Lord relies; But they shall tremble yet in fear, For to the righteous God is near. O that from Zion, His abode, Salvation were on us bestowed! When God His exiles shall restore, They shall in song His grace adore.

  Lord of all worlds, let thanks and praise To Thee forever fill my soul; With blessings Thou hast crowned my days, My heart, my head, my hand control. O, let no vain presumptions rise, No impious murmur in my heart, To crave the boon Thy will denies, Or shrink from ill Thy hands impart. Thy child am I, and not an hour, Revolving in the orbs above, But brings some token of Thy power, But brings some token of Thy love; And shall this bosom dare repine, In darkness dare deny the dawn, Or spurn the treasures of the mine, Because one diamond is withdrawn? The fool denies, the fool alone, Thy being, Lord, and boundless might; Denies the firmament, Thy throne, Denies the sun’s meridian light; Denies the fashion of his frame, The voice he hears, the breath he draws; O idiot atheist! to proclaim Effects unnumbered without cause! Matter and mind, mysterious one, Are man’s for threescore years and ten; Where, ere the thread of life was spun? Where, when reduced to dust again? All seeing God, the doubt suppress; The doubt Thou only canst relieve; My soul Thy Savior Son shall bless, Fly to Thy Gospel, and believe.

Psalms 32:1

• [Psa 32:1] Blest Is The Man, Forever Blest

  Blest is the man, forever blest, Whose guilt is pardoned by his God; Whose sins with sorrow are confessed, And covered with his Savior’s blood. Blest is the man to whom the Lord Imputes not his iniquities; He pleads no merit of reward, And not on works, but grace relies. From guile his heart and lips are free; His humble joy, his holy fear, With deep repentance well agree, And join to prove his faith sincere. How glorious is that righteousness That hides and cancels all his sins, While a bright evidence of grace Through his whole life appears and shines!

• [Psa 32:1] How Blest Is He Whose Trespass

  How blest is he whose trespass Hath freely been forgiv’n, Whose sin is wholly covered Before the sight of Heav’n. But he to whom Jehovah Will not impute his sin, Who has a guileless spirit, Whose heart is true within. While I kept guilty silence My strength was spent with grief; Thy hand was heavy on me, My soul found no relief; But when I owned my trespass, My sin hid not from Thee, When I confessed transgression, Then Thou forgavest me. So let the godly seek Thee In times when Thou art near; No whelming floods shall reach them, Nor cause their hearts to fear. In Thee, O Lord, I hide me, Thou savest me from ill, And songs of Thy salvation My heart with rapture thrill. I graciously will teach thee The way that thou shalt go, And with Mine eye upon thee My counsel make thee know. But be ye not unruly, Or slow to understand, Be not perverse, but willing To heed My wise command. The sorrows of the wicked In number shall abound, But those that trust Jehovah, His mercy shall surround. Then in the Lord be joyful, In song lift up your voice; Be glad in God, ye righteous, Rejoice, ye saints, rejoice.

• [Psa 32:1] O Blessèd Souls Are They

  O blessèd souls are they Whose sins are covered o’er; Divinely blessed, to whom the Lord Imputes their guilt no more. They mourn their follies past, And keep their hearts with care; Their lips and lives without deceit Shall prove their faith sincere. While I concealed my guilt, I felt the painful wound, Till I confessed my sins to Thee, And ready pardon found. Let sinners learn to pray, Let saints keep near the throne; Our help in times of deep distress Is found in God alone.

• [Psa 119:161] No Book Is Like The Bible

  No book is like the Bible, For childhood, youth and age; Our duty, plain and simple, We find on every page. It came  by inspiration, A light to guide our way, A voice from Him who gave it, Reproving when we stray. Refrain No book is like the Bible, The blessèd book we love, The pilgrim’s chart of glory, It leads to God above. It tells of man’s creation, His sad, primeval fall; It tells of man’s redemption, Through Christ, who died for all; In sacred words of wisdom It bids us watch and pray, And early come to Jesus, The Life, the Truth, the Way. Refrain O, let us love the Bible, And praise it more and more; Our life is like a shadow, Our days will soon be o’er; But if we closely follow The counsel God has giv’n, We then may hope with angels To sing His praise in Heav’n.   Though mighty foes assail me, Lord, I fear not them, but Thee; As boundless wealth and priceless spoil, Thy Word rejoices me. Deceit and falsehood I abhor, But in Thy law delight; Throughout the day I praise Thy Name, For all Thy ways are right. Great peace has he who loves Thy law, Unmoved, he safely stands; For Thy salvation I have hoped And followed Thy commands. Thy testimonies I have kept, They are my chief delight; Observant of Thy law and truth, I walk before Thy sight.
