Psalms 27:7

• [Psa 27:7] O Lord, Give Ear Unto My Voice

  O Lord, give ear unto my voice, when I do cry to Thee; Upon me also mercy have, and do Thou answer me. When Thou didst say, “Seek ye My face,” then unto Thee reply Thus did my heart, above all things Thy face, Lord, seek will I. Far from me hide not Thou Thy face; put not away from Thee Thy servant in Thy wrath: Thou hast a helper been to me. O God of my salvation, leave me not, nor forsake: Though me my parents both should leave, the Lord will me up take. O Lord, instruct me in Thy way, to me a leader be In a plain path, because of those that hatred bear to me. Give me not to mine enemies’ will; for witnesses that lie Against me risen are, and such as breathe out cruelty. I fainted had, unless that I believèd had to see The Lord’s own goodness in the land of them that living be. Wait on the Lord, and be thou strong, and He shall strength afford Unto thine heart; yea, do thou wait, I say, upon the Lord.

• [Psa 27:7] O Lord, Give Heed Unto Our Plea

  O Lord, give heed unto our plea, O Spirit, grant Thy graces, That we who put our trust in Thee May rightly sing Thy praises. Thy Word, O Christ, unto us give, That grace and pow’r we may receive To follow Thee, our Master. Touch Thou the shepherd’s lips, O Lord, That in this blessèd hour He may proclaim Thy sacred Word With unction and with power. What Thou wouldst have Thy servant say, Put Thou into his heart, we pray, With grace and strength to say it. Let heart and ear be opened wide Unto Thy Word and pleading; Our minds, O Holy Spirit, guide By Thine own light and leading. The law of Christ we would fulfill, And walk according to His will, His Word our rule of living.

• [Psa 37:4] O Lord, I Will Delight In Thee

  O Lord, I will delight in Thee And on Thy care depend, To Thee in every trouble flee, My best, my only Friend. When all created streams are dried, Thy fullness is the same; May I with this be satisfied And glory in Thy Name. No good in creatures can be found But may be found in Thee; I must have all things and abound While God is God to me. O Lord, I cast my care on Thee, I triumph and adore; Henceforth my great concern shall be To love and please Thee more.

  Bow down Thine ear, O Lord, and hear, For I am poor and great my need; Preserve my soul, for Thee I fear; O God, Thy trusting servant heed. O Lord, be merciful to me, For all the day to Thee I cry; Rejoice Thy servant, for to Thee I lift my soul, O Lord most high. For Thou, O Lord, art good and kind, And ready to forgive Thou art; Abundant mercy they shall find Who call on Thee with all their heart. O Lord, incline Thine ear to me, My voice of supplication heed; In trouble I will cry to Thee, For Thou wilt answer when I plead. There is no God but Thee alone, Nor works like Thine, O Lord most high; All nations shall surround Thy throne And their Creator glorify. In all Thy deeds how great Thou art! Thou one true God, Thy way make clear; Teach me with undivided heart To trust Thy truth, Thy Name to fear.

  O Savior, I have naught to plead, In earth beneath or Heaven above, But just in my own exceeding need, And Thy exceeding love. The need will soon be past and gone, Exceeding great, but quickly o’er; The love unbought is all Thine own, And lasts forevermore.

  Lord of creation, bow Thine ear, O Christ, to hear The intercession of Thy servant true and dear, That we unworthy, who have trespassed in Thy sight, May live before Thee where he dwells in glorious light. O God our Savior, look on Thine inheritance, Sealed by the favor shining from Thy countenance; That no false spirit bring to naught the souls of price Bought by the merit of Thy perfect sacrifice. We bear the burden of our guilt and enmity, Until Thy pardon lift the heart from slavery; Then through the spending of Thy life blood, King of grace, Grant us unending triumph in Thy holy place. To Thee the glorious Christ, our Savior manifest, All wreaths victorious, praise and worship be addressed, Whom with the living Father humbly we adore, And the life giving Spirit, God forevermore.

  To my humble supplication, Lord, give ear and acceptation; Save Thy servant, that hath none Help nor hope but Thee alone. Send, O send, relieving gladness To my soul oppressed with sadness, Which, from clog of earth set free, Winged with zeal, flies up to Thee. To Thee, rich in mercies’ treasure, And in goodness without measure, Never failing help to those Who on Thy sure help repose. Heavenly Tutor, of Thy kindness, Teach my dullness, guide my blindness, That my steps Thy paths may tread, Which to endless bliss do lead.
