• [Psa 121:1] Across The Sky The Shades Of Night

  Across the sky the shades of night This New Year’s Eve are fleeting, We deck Thine altar, Lord, with light, In solemn worship meeting; And as the year’s last hours go by, We raise to Thee our earnest cry, Once more Thy love entreating. Before the cross subdued we bow, To Thee our prayers addressing, Recounting all Thy mercies now, And all our sins confessing; Beseeching Thee this coming year To keep us in Thy faith and fear And crown us with Thy blessing. And while we pray, we lift our eyes To dear ones gone before us, Safe home with thee in paradise, Whose peace descendeth o’er us; And beg of Thee, when life is past, To reunite us all at last With those who’ve gone before us. We gather up in this brief hour The memory of Thy mercies; Thy wondrous goodness, love and power Our grateful song rehearses; For Thou hast been our Strength and Stay In many a dark and dreary day Of sorrow and reverses. In many an hour when fear and dread, Like evil spells, have bound us And clouds were gathering overhead, Thy providence hath found us. In many a night when seas ran high, Thy gracious presence, drawing nigh, Hath made all calm around us. Then, O great God, in years to come, Whatever may betide us, Right onward through our journey home Be Thou at hand to guide us; Nor leave us till at close of life, Safe from all perils, toil, and strife, Heaven shall enfold and hide us.

• [Psa 121:1] I To The Hills Will Lift My Eyes

  I to the hills will lift my eyes; O whence shall come my aid? My help is from the Lord alone, Who Heav’n and earth has made. He will not let thy foot be moved, Thy Guardian never sleeps; With watchful and unslumbering care, His own He safely keeps. Thy faithful Keeper is the Lord, Thy Shelter and thy Shade; ’Neath sun or moon, by day or night, Thou shalt not be afraid. From evil He will keep thee safe, For thee He will provide; Thy going out, thy coming in, Forever He will guide.

• [Psa 121:1] Mine Eyes Look Toward The Mountains

  Mine eyes look toward the mountains, Help cometh from on high; From God Who never slumbers, Whose care is ever nigh. My foot shall not be movèd, My keeper is the Lord; He never shall forsake me; I trust me to His Word. God keepeth me from falling, Fulfilleth all my need; His love doth e’er uphold me, In faithful word and deed. He keepeth me from evil, My onward way doth trace, My going and my coming, He crowneth with His grace.

  To the hills I lift mine eyes; Whence shall help for me arise? From the Lord shall come mine aid, Who the Heav’n and earth has made. He will guide through dangers all, Will not suffer thee to fall; He Who safe His people keeps Slumbers not and never sleeps. Thy Protector is the Lord, Shade for thee He will afford; Neither sun nor moon shall smite, God shall guard by day and night. He will ever keep thy soul, What would harm He will control; In the home and by the way He will keep thee day by day.

• [Psa 121:1] Unto The Hills Around Do I Lift Up

  Unto the hills around do I lift up my longing eyes O whence for me shall my salvation come, from whence arise? From God, the Lord, doth come my certain aid, From God, the Lord, who heaven and earth hath made. He will not suffer that thy foot be moved: safe shalt thou be. No careless slumber shall His eyelids close, who keepeth thee. Behold, He sleepeth not, He slumbereth ne’er, Who keepeth Israel in His holy care. Jehovah is Himself thy Keeper true, thy changeless Shade; Jehovah thy Defense on thy right hand Himself hath made. And thee no sun by day shall ever smite; No moon shall harm thee in the silent night. From every evil shall He keep thy soul, from every sin; Jehovah shall preserve thy going out, thy coming in. Above thee watching, He Whom we adore Shall keep thee henceforth, yea, forevermore.
