  There’s within my heart a melody Jesus whispers sweet and low, Fear not, I am with thee, peace, be still, In all of life’s ebb and flow. All my life was wrecked by sin and strife, Discord filled my heart with pain, Jesus swept across the broken strings, Stirred the slumbering chords again. • [Psa 51:4] In Evil Long I Took Delight

  In evil long I took delight, Unawed by shame or fear, Till a new object struck my sight, And stopped my wild career. I saw One hanging on a tree, In agony and blood, Who fixed His languid eyes on me, As near His cross I stood. Sure, never to my latest breath, Can I forget that look; It seemed to charge me with His death, Though not a word He spoke. My conscience felt and owned the guilt, And plunged me in despair, I saw my sins His blood had spilt, And helped to nail Him there. A second look He gave, which said, “I freely all forgive; This blood is for thy ransom paid; I die that thou mayst live.” Thus, while His death my sin displays In all its blackest hue, Such is the mystery of grace, It seals my pardon too.

• [Psa 73:28] Delay Not, O Sinner, Draw Near

  Delay not, delay not, O sinner, draw near. The waters of life are now flowing for thee; No price is demanded, the Savior is here; Redemption is purchased, salvation is free. Delay not, delay not, O sinner, to come, For mercy still lingers and calls thee today. Her voice is not heard in the vale of the tomb; Her message, unheeded, will soon pass away. Delay not, delay not, the Spirit of grace, Long grieved and resisted, may take His sad flight, And leave thee in darkness to finish thy race, To sink in the gloom of eternity’s night. Delay not, delay not, the hour is at hand, The earth shall dissolve, and the heavens shall fade; The dead, small and great, in the judgment shall stand; What helper, then, sinner, shall lend thee his aid? Delay not, delay not, why longer abuse The love and compassion of Jesus thy God? A fountain is open, how canst thou refuse To wash and be cleansed in His pardoning blood?

• [Psa 73:28] Ye Neighbors And Friends Of Jesus

  Ye neighbors, and friends of Jesus, draw near: His love condescends by titles so dear To call and invite you His triumph to prove, And freely delight you in Jesus’ love. The Shepherd Who died His sheep to redeem, On every side are gathered to Him The weary and burdened, the reprobate race; And wait to be pardoned through Jesus’ grace. The blind are restored through Jesus’ Name, They see their dear Lord, and follow the Lamb; The halt they are walking, and running their race; The dumb they are talking of Jesus’ grace. The deaf hear His voice and comforting Word, It bids them rejoice in Jesus their Lord, “Thy sins are forgiven, accepted thou art”; They listen, and heaven springs up in their heart. The lepers from all their spots are made clean, The dead by His call are raised from their sin; In Jesus’ compassion the sick find a cure, And Gospel salvation is preached to the poor. To us and to them is published the Word: Then let us proclaim our life giving Lord, Who now is reviving His work in our days, And mightily striving to save us by grace. O Jesus! ride on till all are subdued, Thy mercy make known, and sprinkle Thy blood; Display Thy salvation, and teach the new song To every nation, and people, and tongue.
