Psalms 118:24-26

• [Psa 118:24] This Is The Day The Lord Hath Made

  This is the day the Lord hath made; He calls the hours His own; Let Heav’n rejoice, let earth be glad, And praise surround the throne. Today He rose and left the dead, And Satan’s empire fell; Today the saints His triumphs spread, And all His wonders tell. Hosanna to th’anointed King, To David’s holy Son; Help us, O Lord; descend and bring Salvation from Thy throne. Blest be the Lord, who comes to men With messages of grace; Who comes in God His Father’s Name, To save our sinful race. Hosanna in the highest strains The Church on earth can raise; The highest heav’ns, in which He reigns, Shall give Him nobler praise.

  Thine honor save, O Christ, our Lord! Hear Zion’s cries and help afford; Destroy the wiles of mighty foes Who now Thy Word and truth oppose. Their craft and pomp indeed are great, And of their power they boast and prate; Our hope they scornfully deride And deem us nothing in their pride. Forgive, O Lord, our sins forgive. Grant us Thy grace and let us live. Convince Thy foes throughout the land That godless counsels shall not stand. That Thou art with us, Lord, proclaim And put our enemies to shame; Confound them in their haughtiness And help Thine own in their distress. Preserve Thy little flock in peace, Nor let Thy boundless mercy cease; To all the world let it appear That Thy true Church indeed is here.

  Crown His head with endless blessing, Who, in God the Father’s Name, With compassions never ceasing, Comes salvation to proclaim. Hail, ye saints, who know His favor, Who within His gates are found, Hail, ye saints th’exalted Savior, Let His courts with praise resound. Lo, Jehovah, we adore Thee; Thee our Savior! Thee our God! From His throne His beams of glory Shine through all the world around. In His Word His light arises, Brightest beams of truth and grace; Bind, O bind your sacrifices, In His courts your offerings place. Jesus, Thee our Savior hailing, Thee our God in praise we own, Highest honors, never failing, Rise eternal round Thy throne. Now, ye saints, His pow’r confessing, In your grateful strains adore; For His mercy never ceasing, Flows, and flows forevermore.

• [Psa 118:26] Jesus, Thy Name Has Power To Bless

  Jesus, Thy Name hath pow’r to bless Our troubled souls in all distress. On us, dear Lord, bestow Thy grace, And guide us safely all our days. The only Son of God Thou art, Forgive our sins and cleanse our heart; Behold and help us in our need, Thou Who art God and Man indeed. In Thee is all our righteousness, In Thee all peace and blessedness. Who trusteth in Thy holy Name Shall be redeemed from sin and shame. We praise Thee for Thy living Word, And for Thy sacraments, O Lord. Grant us Thy peace in all our strife, And after death eternal life.
