  Blest is he who loves God’s precepts, Who from sin restrains his feet, He who will not stand with sinners, He who shuns the scorners’ seat. Blest is he who makes the statutes Of the Lord his chief delight, In God’s law, divinely perfect, Meditating day and night. He is like a tree well planted By the flowing river’s side, Ever green of leaf and fruitful: Thus shall all his works abide. Like the driven chaff the wicked Shall be swept from off the land With the just they shall not gather, Nor shall in the judgment stand. Well the Lord will guard the righteous, For their way to Him is known; But the way of evildoers Shall by Him be overthrown.

  Ascribe to the Lord our God, Ascribe to Him glory, might. Ascribe to the Lord the glory due His Name And worship Him aright. Come worship in the splendor of holiness. The voice of the Lord is heard; The Lord thunders o’er the sea. The voice of the Lord is powerful and strong; God speaks with majesty. We hear Your voice and worship in holiness. God’s voice breaks the cedars tall; He strips all the forests bare. The mountains He shakes; they skip just like a calf. His glory all declare. We hear Your voice and worship in holiness. The voice of the Lord does strike With flashes of lightning bright. The voice of the Lord does shake the desert sands; The deer give birth in fright. We hear Your voice and worship in holiness. The Lord o’er the flood did reign; As King, He’s fore’er enthroned. The Lord gives His people strength for every day; With peace, they’re blessed and crowned. You’ve blessed us, Lord; we worship in holiness.

  Now unto Jehovah, ye sons of the mighty, All glory and strength and dominion accord; Ascribe to Him glory, and render Him honor. In beauty of holiness, worship the Lord. The voice of Jehovah comes down on the waters; In thunder the God of the glory draws nigh; Lo, over the waves of the wide-flowing waters Jehovah as King is enthronèd on high!   The mercy of God is an ocean divine, A boundless and fathomless flood. Launch out in the deep, cut away the shore line, And be lost in the fullness of God. Refrain Launch out, into the deep. Oh let the shore line go. Launch out, launch out in the ocean divine, Out where the full tides flow. But many, alas! only stand on the shore, And gaze on the ocean so wide. They never have ventured its depths to explore, Or to launch on the fathomless tide.   Give to the winds thy fears, Hope and be undismayed. God hears thy sighs and counts thy tears, God shall lift up thy head. Through waves and clouds and storms, He gently clears thy way; Wait thou His time; so shall this night Soon end in joyous day. Still heavy is thy heart? Still sinks thy spirit down? Cast off the world, let fear depart Bid every care begone. What though Thou rulest not; Yet heaven, and earth, and hell Proclaim, God sitteth on the throne, And ruleth all things well. And whatsoe’er Thou will’st, Thou dost, O King of kings; What Thine unerring wisdom chose, Thy power to being brings. Leave to His sovereign sway To choose and to command; So shalt thou, wondering, own that way, How wise, how strong this hand. Far, far above thy thought, His counsel shall appear, When fully He the work hath wrought, That caused thy needless fear. Thou seest our weakness, Lord; Our hearts are known to Thee; O lift Thou up the sinking hand, Confirm the feeble knee! Let us in life, in death, Thy steadfast truth declare, And publish with our latest breath Thy love and guardian care.

  Thy way and all thy sorrows, Give thou into His hand, His gracious care unfailing, Who doth the heav’ns command. Their course and path He giveth To clouds and air and wind; A way thy feet may follow, He too for thee will find. On Him be Thy reliance, As thou wouldst prosper well; To make thy work enduring Thy mind on His must dwell. God yieldeth naught to sorrow And self tormenting care; Naught, naught with him availeth; No power save that of prayer.   House of our God, with hymns of gladness ring, While all our lips and hearts His praises sing; The opening year His mercies shall proclaim, And all its days shall celebrate His Name. Ye angel choirs on high, whose dwelling place Shines with the glory of His unveiled face, Through your immortal life, as love still grows, Tell of His goodness, which no ending knows. O Earth, enlightened by His rays divine, Stored by His hand with corn and oil and wine, Crowned with His goodness, let thy nations raise From shore to shore the song of ceaseless praise. O Church, His chosen dwelling and delight, Graven on His hands, and precious in His sight, Sing the deep marvels of that boundless grace Which sheds on thee the brightness of His face.
