Numbers 9:16

1 tc The MT lacks the words “by day,” but a number of ancient versions have this reading (e.g., Greek, Syriac, Tg. Ps.-J., Latin Vulgate).

3 tn Heb “know.”

4 tn The optative clause is introduced with the particle לוּ (lu).

5 tc Many commentators consider אוּלַי (’ulay, “perhaps”) to be a misspelling in the MT in place of לוּלֵי (luley, “if not”).

6 tn Heb “flee to your place.”
