Numbers 3:51

Context
3:51 Moses gave the redemption money to Aaron and his sons, according to the word of the Lord, as the Lord had commanded Moses.

36:5 Then Moses gave a ruling 5  to the Israelites by the word 6  of the Lord: “What the tribe of the Josephites is saying is right.

1 tn Heb “hand.”

2 tn The verb is the imperfect tense, but it describes their customary activity – they had to carry, they used to carry.

3 tn Heb “upon them,” meaning “their duty.”

4 sn The difference in the names is slight, a change from “he saves” to “the Lord saves.” The Greek text of the OT used Iesoun for Hebrew Yeshua.

5 tn Heb “commanded.”

6 tn Heb “mouth.”
