Numbers 24:10

Numbers 35:21

Context
35:21 or with enmity he strikes him with his hand and he dies, the one who struck him must surely be put to death, for he is a murderer. The avenger of blood must kill the murderer when he meets him.

1 tn The verb is a prefixed conjugation, normally an imperfect tense. But coming after the adverb טֶּרֶם (terem) it is treated as a preterite.

2 sn This is apparently a sign of contempt or derision (see Job 27:23; and Lam 2:15).

3 tn The construction is emphatic, using the infinitive absolute with the perfect tense for “bless.”
