Nehemiah 6:18

Nehemiah 9:30

1 tn Heb “were lords of oath.”

3 tn Some have suggested that “Hananiah” is another name for Hanani, Nehemiah’s brother, so that only one individual is mentioned here. However, the third person plural in v. 3 indicates two people are in view.

4 tn The Hebrew expression here is elliptical. The words “your kindness” are not included in the Hebrew text, but have been supplied in the translation for clarity.

5 tn Heb “did not give ear to.”

6 tn Heb “the peoples of the lands.”
