Nehemiah 2:8

Context
2:8 and a letter for Asaph the keeper of the king’s nature preserve,¹ so that he will give me timber for beams for the gates of the fortress adjacent to the temple and for the city wall² and for the house to which I go.” So the king granted me these requests,³ for the good hand of my God was on me.

Nehemiah 9:25

Context
9:25 They captured fortified cities and fertile land. They took possession of houses full of all sorts of good things – wells previously dug, vineyards, olive trees, and fruit trees in abundance. They ate until they were full⁴ and grew fat. They enjoyed to the full your great goodness.

²tc One medieval Hebrew MS, the Syriac Peshitta, Vulgate, and the Arabic read here the plural וּלְחוֹמוֹת (ulÿkhomot, “walls”) against the singular וּלְחוֹמַת (ulÿkhomat) in the MT. The plural holem vav (וֹ) might have dropped out due to dittography or the plural form might have been written defectively.

³tn The Hebrew text does not include the expression “these requests,” but it is implied.

⁴tn Heb “they ate and were sated.” This expression is a hendiadys. The first verb retains its full verbal sense, while the second functions adverbially: “they ate and were filled” = “they ate until they were full.”

displaying	set the max displaying in one page.	"20" will set displaying max to 20 per page
range	set searching range	"All Bible", "Old Testament", "New Testament"
