Nehemiah 2:18

2:18 Then I related to them how the good hand of my God was on me and what 1  the king had said to me. Then they replied, “Let’s begin rebuilding right away!” 2  So they readied themselves 3  for this good project.

5:13 I also shook out my garment, 4  and I said, “In this way may God shake out from his house and his property every person who does not carry out 5  this matter. Nehemiah 12:27

Context
The Wall of Jerusalem is Dedicated

12:27 At the dedication of the wall of Jerusalem, 9  they sought out the Levites from all the places they lived 10  to bring them to Jerusalem to celebrate the dedication joyfully with songs of thanksgiving and songs accompanied by cymbals, harps, and lyres.

8 tc The translation follows the Qere reading חֶסֶד (khesed, “loyal love”) rather than the Kethib reading וְחֶסֶד (vÿkhesed, “and loyal love”) of the MT.
