Nehemiah 1:2-3
Context1:2 Hanani, who was one of my relatives, 1 along with some of the men from Judah, came to me, 2 and I asked them about the Jews who had escaped and had survived the exile, and about Jerusalem. 3
1:3 They said to me, “The remnant that remains from the exile there in the province are experiencing considerable 4 adversity and reproach. The wall of Jerusalem lies breached, and its gates have been burned down!” 5
Nehemiah 7:6
Context7:6 These are the people 6 of the province who returned 7 from the captivity of the exiles, whom King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon had forced into exile. 8 They returned to Jerusalem and to Judah, each to his own city.
Nehemiah 8:17
Context8:17 So all the assembly which had returned from the exile constructed temporary shelters and lived in them. The Israelites had not done so from the days of Joshua son of Nun until that day. Everyone experienced very great joy. 9
