9:28 When 1  he went into the house, the blind men came to him. Jesus 2  said to them, “Do you believe that I am able to do this?” They said to him, “Yes, Lord.”

Matthew 17:25

Context
17:25 He said, “Yes.” When Peter came into the house, Jesus spoke to him first, 3  “What do you think, Simon? From whom do earthly kings collect tolls or taxes – from their sons 4  or from foreigners?”

Matthew 24:26

Context
24:26 So then, if someone 5  says to you, ‘Look, he is in the wilderness,’ 6  do not go out, or ‘Look, he is in the inner rooms,’ do not believe him.

Matthew 25:45

Context
25:45 Then he will answer them, 7  ‘I tell you the truth, 8  just as you did not do it for one of the least of these, you did not do it for me.’

1 tn Here δέ (de) has not been translated.

2 tn Grk “to him, and Jesus.” This is a continuation of the previous sentence in Greek, but a new sentence was started here in the translation.

3 tn Grk “spoke first to him, saying.” The participle λέγων (legwn) is redundant in English and has not been translated.

4 sn The phrase their sons may mean “their citizens,” but the term “sons” has been retained here in order to preserve the implicit comparison between the Father and his Son, Jesus.

5 tn Grk “they say.” The third person plural is used here as an indefinite and translated “someone” (ExSyn 402).

6 tn Or “in the desert.”

7 tn Grk “answer them, saying.” The participle λέγων (legwn) is redundant in contemporary English and has not been translated.

8 tn Grk “Truly (ἀμήν, amhn), I say to you.”
