  When through the torn sail the wild tempest is raging, When o’er the dark wave the red lightning is gleaming, Nor hope lends a ray the poor seaman to cherish, We fly to our Maker, “Save, Lord, or we perish.” O Jesus, once rocked on the breast of the billow, Aroused by the shriek of despair from Thy pillow, Now seated in glory, the mariner cherish, Who cries in his anguish, “Save, Lord, or we perish.” And O! when the whirlwind of passion is raging, When sin in our hearts his wild warfare is waging, Then send down Thy grace Thy redeemèd to cherish Rebuke the destroyer; “Save, Lord, or we perish.”

  Dear Jesus, canst Thou help me? My soul is full of woe; My heart is almost breaking, I’ve nowhere else to go. • [Mat 24:42] Are You Ready For The Coming?

  Are you ready for the coming of the Lord from Heav’n? Are you resting in the promise which to us is giv’n? Does your heart leap up with rapture as you know He’s near? Or do thoughts of His appearing fill your heart with fear? Refrain Are you ready (are you ready), Are you ready (are you ready), Are you ready for the opening skies? Are you ready (are you ready), Are you ready (are you ready), Are you ready for that glad surprise? If He came to call His people would you be dismayed? Though your sins have been forgiven would you be afraid? Would you be ashamed to meet Him if He came today? From the presence of the Master would you shrink away? Refrain To this world with all its pleasures are you rooted fast? Would a call to leave it quickly be a wrench at last? When He views your finished life work will you suffer loss? Will you find that you have gathered only worthless dross? Refrain Are you busy in His service though your heart is cold? Are there precious earthly treasures which you fondly hold? Would He find you doing only what He could approve? Would He find you watching, waiting for the One you love? Refrain

  Church of Christ, thy Lord is calling; Ope thine eyes, behold and see, Precious souls, in chains of bondage, Pleading now for aid from thee. Up and work for those that perish, Haste, the time will soon be o’er; Fold thy arms of love around them, Church of Christ, O sleep no more. Lo, again thy Lord is calling; Preach the Word, its truth proclaim; Lift thy voice and, like a trumpet, Sound aloud Jehovah’s Name.   If our Lord should come tonight, With the bright angelic host, Would He find us in His vineyard, Every servant at his post? Thro’ the precious cleansing blood, Are our garments clean and white? Are we dwelling in the light, Should our Lord appear tonight? Refrain Are we watching, are we waiting In the raiment pure and white? Should we joy at His appearing If our Lord should come tonight?
