Mark 13:4
Context13:4 “Tell us, when will these things 3 happen? And what will be the sign that all these things are about to take place?”
1 sn To shake the dust off represented shaking off the uncleanness from one’s feet; see Luke 10:11; Acts 13:51; 18:6. It was a sign of rejection.
2 tn Or “a desert” (meaning a deserted or desolate area with sparse vegetation).
3 sn Both references to these things are plural, so more than the temple’s destruction is in view. The question may presuppose that such a catastrophe signals the end.
