Mark 5:14

5:14 Now 1  the herdsmen ran off and spread the news in the town and countryside, and the people went out to see what had happened.

5:16 Those who had seen what had happened to the demon-possessed man reported it, and they also told about the pigs.

5:33 Then the woman, with fear and trembling, knowing what had happened to her, came and fell down before him and told him the whole truth.

13:19 For in those days there will be suffering 2  unlike anything that has happened 3  from the beginning of the creation that God created until now, or ever will happen.

1 tn Grk “And.” Here καί (kai) has been translated as “now” to indicate a transition to the response to the miraculous healing.

2 tn Traditionally, “tribulation.”

3 sn Suffering unlike anything that has happened. Some refer this event to the destruction of Jerusalem in a.d. 70. While the events of a.d. 70 may reflect somewhat the comments Jesus makes here, the reference to the scope and severity of this judgment strongly suggest that much more is in view. Most likely Jesus is referring to the great end-time judgment on Jerusalem in the great tribulation.
