7:21 At that very time 1  Jesus 2  cured many people of diseases, sicknesses, 3  and evil spirits, and granted 4  sight to many who were blind.

Luke 18:43

Context
18:43 And immediately he regained 5  his sight and followed Jesus, 6  praising 7  God. When 8  all the people saw it, they too 9  gave praise to God.

1 tn Grk “In that hour.”

2 tn Grk “he”; the referent (Jesus) has been specified in the translation for clarity.

3 tn Grk “and sicknesses,” but καί (kai) has not been translated since English normally uses a coordinating conjunction only between the last two elements in a series of three or more.

4 tn Or “and bestowed (sight) on.”

5 tn Or “received” (see the note on the phrase “let me see again” in v. 41).

6 tn Grk “him”; the referent (Jesus) has been specified in the translation for clarity.

7 sn The presence of God’s work leads again to joy, with both the beggar and the people praising God (1:64; 2:20; 5:25-26; 7:16; 13:13; 17:15; 19:37).

8 tn Here καί (kai) has not been translated because of differences between Greek and English style.

9 tn The word “too” has been supplied for stylistic reasons.
