Leviticus 26:26
Context26:26 When I break off your supply of bread, 6 ten women will bake your bread in one oven; they will ration your bread by weight, 7 and you will eat and not be satisfied.
1 sn That is, to have sexual intercourse with one’s granddaughter would be like openly exposing one’s own shameful nakedness (see the note on v. 7 above).
2 tn Heb “The nakedness of the daughter of your father’s wife born of your father, she is your sister; you must not uncover her nakedness.” That is, a half sister, the daughter of the man’s father by another wife, who is not the man’s mother, is to be considered a true sister. Therefore, the man must not have sexual intercourse with her.
3 tn Heb “And in your harvesting the harvest.”
4 tn Heb “you shall not complete the corner of your field to harvest.”
5 tn Heb “And you shall not deal severely with your vineyard.”
6 tn Heb “When I break to you staff of bread” (KJV, ASV, and NASB all similar).
7 tn Heb “they will return your bread in weight.”
