Leviticus 13:19
Context13:19 and in the place of the boil there is a white swelling or a reddish white bright spot, he must show himself to the priest. 1
Leviticus 19:15
Context19:15 “‘You 2 must not deal unjustly in judgment: 3 you must neither show partiality to the poor nor honor the rich. 4 You must judge your fellow citizen fairly. 5
1 tn Some English versions translate “it shall be shown to [or “be seen by”] the priest,” taking the infection to be the subject of the verb (e.g., KJV, NASB, RSV, NRSV). Based on the Hebrew grammar there is no way to be sure which is intended.
2 tc Smr has the singular rather than the plural “you” of the MT, which brings this verb form into line with the ones surrounding it.
3 tn Heb “You shall not do injustice in judgment” (NASB similar); cf. NIV “do not pervert justice.”
4 tn Heb “You shall not lift up faces of poor [people] and you shall not honor faces of great.”
5 tn Heb “In righteousness you shall judge your fellow citizen.”
