8:35 Joshua read aloud every commandment Moses had given 1  before the whole assembly of Israel, including the women, children, and resident foreigners who lived among them. 2 

Joshua 18:3

18:3 So Joshua said to the Israelites: “How long do you intend to put off occupying 3  the land the Lord God of your ancestors 4  has given you?

Joshua 22:3

22:3 You have not abandoned your fellow Israelites 5  this entire time, 6  right up to this very day. You have completed the task given you by the Lord your God. 7 

1 tn Heb “There was not a word from all which Moses commanded that Joshua did not read aloud.”

2 tn Heb “walked in their midst.”

3 tn Heb “How long are you putting off entering and possessing.”

4 tn Or “fathers.”

5 tn Heb “your brothers” (also in vv. 4, 7), but this does not refer to siblings or necessarily even to relatives. It refers to the Israelites of the remaining tribes.

6 tn Heb “these many days.”

7 tn Heb “you have kept the charge of the command of the Lord your God.”
