Joshua 24:8

Context
24:8 Then I brought you to the land of the Amorites who lived east of the Jordan. They fought with you, but I handed them over to you; you conquered 5  their land and I destroyed them from before you.

1 tn Or “trouble.” The word is “achor” in Hebrew (also in the following clause).

2 tc Heb “and they burned them with fire and they stoned them with stones.” These words are somewhat parenthetical in nature and are omitted in the LXX; they may represent a later scribal addition.

3 tn Heb “and I brought back to him a word just as [was] in my heart.”

4 tn Heb “Was the sin of Peor too insignificant for us, from which we have not made purification to this day? And there was a plague in the assembly of the Lord.”

5 tn Or “took possession of.”
