Joshua 5:15

5:15 The commander of the Lord’s army answered Joshua, “Remove your sandals from your feet, because the place where you stand is holy.” Joshua did so.

24:6 When I brought your fathers out of Egypt, you arrived at the sea. The Egyptians chased your fathers with chariots and horsemen to the Red Sea.

1 tn Heb “from the ambush.”

2 tn Heb “take possession of.”

3 tn Heb “your brothers” (also in vv. 4, 7), but this does not refer to siblings or necessarily even to relatives. It refers to the Israelites of the remaining tribes.

4 tn Heb “these many days.”

5 tn Heb “you have kept the charge of the command of the Lord your God.”

6 tn The Hebrew text reads, “from before you.” This has not been included in the translation because it is redundant in English.

7 tn Or “take possession of.”

8 tn Heb “said to.”
