3:9 Joshua told the Israelites, “Come here and listen to the words of the Lord your God!”

4:21 He told the Israelites, “When your children someday ask their fathers, ‘What do these stones represent?’ 1  4:22 explain 2  to your children, ‘Israel crossed the Jordan River 3  on dry ground.’

22:4 Now the Lord your God has made your fellow Israelites secure, 4  just as he promised them. So now you may turn around and go to your homes 5  in your own land 6  which Moses the Lord’s servant assigned to you east of the Jordan.

2 tn Heb “make known.”

3 tn Heb “crossed this Jordan”; the word “River” is not in the Hebrew text, but has been supplied to clarify the meaning.

4 tn Heb “has given rest to your brothers.”

5 tn Heb “tents.”

6 tn Heb “the land of your possession.”
