Joshua 3:16

Context
3:16 the water coming downstream toward them stopped flowing. 1  It piled up far upstream 2  at Adam (the city near Zarethan); there was no water at all flowing to the sea of the Arabah (the Salt Sea). 3  The people crossed the river opposite Jericho. 4 

Joshua 4:8

Context

4:8 The Israelites did just as Joshua commanded. They picked up twelve stones, according to the number of the Israelite tribes, from the middle of the Jordan as the Lord had instructed Joshua. They carried them over with them to the camp and put them there.

Joshua 10:39

10:39 They 5  captured it, its king, and all its surrounding cities and put the sword to them. They annihilated everyone who lived there; they 6  left no survivors. They 7  did to Debir and its king what they 8  had done to Libnah and its king and to Hebron. 9

14:12 Now, assign me this hill country which the Lord promised me at that time! No doubt you heard at that time that the Anakites live there in large, fortified cities. 10  But, assuming the Lord is with me, I will conquer 11  them, as the Lord promised.”

Joshua 20:4

20:4 The one who committed manslaughter 12  should escape to one of these cities, stand at the entrance of the city gate, and present his case to the leaders of that city. 13  They should then bring him into the city, give him a place to stay, and let him live there. 14 

Joshua 20:9

Context
20:9 These were the cities of refuge 15  appointed for all the Israelites and for resident foreigners living among them. Anyone who accidentally killed someone could escape there and not be executed by 16  the avenger of blood, at least until his case was reviewed by the assembly. 17
