Joshua 2:1

Context
Joshua Sends Spies into the Land

2:1 Joshua son of Nun sent two spies out from Shittim secretly and instructed them: 1  “Find out what you can about the land, especially Jericho.” 2  They stopped at the house of a prostitute named Rahab and spent the night there. 3 

Joshua 6:23

Context
6:23 So the young spies went and brought out Rahab, her father, mother, brothers, and all who belonged to her. They brought out her whole family and took them to a place outside 4  the Israelite camp.

Joshua 8:18

Context

8:18 The Lord told Joshua, “Hold out toward Ai the curved sword in your hand, for I am handing the city 5  over to you.” So Joshua held out toward Ai the curved sword in his hand.

Joshua 13:6

Context
13:6 I will drive out before the Israelites all who live in the hill country from Lebanon to Misrephoth Maim, 6  all the Sidonians; you be sure to parcel it out to Israel as I instructed you.” 7

6 tn The meaning of the Hebrew name “Misrephoth Maim” is perhaps “lime-kilns by the water” (see HALOT 2:641).

7 tn Heb “only you, assign it by lots to Israel as an inheritance as I commanded you.”
