1:8 This law scroll must not leave your lips! 1  You must memorize it 2  day and night so you can carefully obey 3  all that is written in it. Then you will prosper 4  and be successful. 5

Joshua Sends Spies into the Land

2:1 Joshua son of Nun sent two spies out from Shittim secretly and instructed them: 6  “Find out what you can about the land, especially Jericho.” 7  They stopped at the house of a prostitute named Rahab and spent the night there. 8 

Joshua 2:5

Context
2:5 When it was time to shut the city gate for the night, the men left. 9  I don’t know where they were heading. Chase after them quickly, for you have time to catch them!”

Joshua 8:13

Context
8:13 The army was in position – the main army north of the city and the rear guard west of the city. That night Joshua went into 10  the middle of the valley.
