The Lord Commissions Joshua

1:1 After Moses the Lord’s servant died, the Lord said to Joshua son of Nun, Moses’ assistant:

Joshua 9:27

Context
9:27 and that day made them woodcutters and water carriers for the community and for the altar of the Lord at the divinely chosen site. (They continue in that capacity to this very day.) 1 

Joshua 10:14

Context
10:14 There has not been a day like it before or since. The Lord obeyed 2  a man, for the Lord fought for Israel!

Joshua 12:6

Context

12:6 Moses the Lord’s servant and the Israelites defeated them and Moses the Lord’s servant assigned their land 3  to Reuben, Gad, and the half tribe of Manasseh.

Joshua 22:18

Context
22:18 Now today you dare to turn back 4  from following the Lord! You are rebelling today against the Lord; tomorrow he may break out in anger against 5  the entire community of Israel.

Joshua 24:31

Context
24:31 Israel worshiped 6  the Lord throughout Joshua’s lifetime and as long as the elderly men who outlived him remained alive. 7  These men had experienced firsthand everything the Lord had done for Israel. 8
