John 3:4

• [Joh 3:4] Man Named Nicodemus, A

  A man named Nicodemus to Jesus came one night. He said, “We know You’ve come from God; Your wonders show His might.” In answer, Jesus did declare, “Give heed, these words are true: You cannot see God’s kingdom come unless you’re born anew.” Then Nicodemus questioned, “Reborn, how can this be? For surely none can to the womb return and new life see.” Jesus replied, “Flesh brings forth flesh, but like the blowing wind, The Spirit does give birth to spirit; thus man is born again.” As Moses in the desert did lift the snake up high, The Son of Man must be raised up that men might live, not die. For God so loved this world of men, he gave his Son for us, That we might have eternal life, if we in Him do trust. God did not send His Son to condemn the world of sin. Christ came instead to save all those who place their trust in Him. All who believe escape God’s wrath; they come into the light. But all who practice evil deeds are guilty in God’s sight. Without the Son, all perish; the verdict is decreed. All those who fail to trust Christ’s Name condemned will ever be. Lord, give me boldness to proclaim Your message to the lost, That they might gain eternal life by looking to the cross.

John 14:17

  Dwell in me, O blessèd Spirit, How I need Thy help divine! In the way of life eternal, Keep, oh, keep this heart of mine. Refrain Dwell in me, oh, dwell in me; Hear and grant my prayer to Thee; Spirit, now from Heav’n descending, Come, oh, come and dwell in me. Let me feel Thy sacred presence; Then my faith will ne’er decline; Comfort Thou and help me onward, Fill with love this heart of mine. John 15:4

• [Joh 15:4] Old Year Now Hath Passed Away, The

  The old year now hath passed away; We thank Thee, O our God, today That Thou hast kept us through the year When danger and distress were near. We pray Thee, O eternal Son, Who with the Father reign’st as One, To guard and rule Thy Christendom Through all the ages yet to come. Take not Thy saving Word away, Our souls’ true comfort, staff, and stay. Abide with us and keep us free From errors, following only Thee. Oh, help us to forsake all sin, A new and holier course begin! Mark not what once was done amiss; A happier, better year be this, Wherein as Christians we may live Or die in peace that Thou canst give, To rise again when Thou shalt come And enter Thine eternal home. There shall we thank Thee and adore With all the angels evermore. Lord Jesus Christ, increase our faith To praise Thy Name through life and death.
