[Joh 3:4] Man Named Nicodemus, A
A man named Nicodemus to Jesus came one night.
He said, “We know You’ve come from God; Your wonders show His might.”
In answer, Jesus did declare, “Give heed, these words are true:
You cannot see God’s kingdom come unless you’re born anew.”Then Nicodemus questioned, “Reborn, how can this be?
For surely none can to the womb return and new life see.”
Jesus replied, “Flesh brings forth flesh, but like the blowing wind,
The Spirit does give birth to spirit; thus man is born again.”As Moses in the desert did lift the snake up high,
The Son of Man must be raised up that men might live, not die.
For God so loved this world of men, he gave his Son for us,
That we might have eternal life, if we in Him do trust.God did not send His Son to condemn the world of sin.
Christ came instead to save all those who place their trust in Him.
All who believe escape God’s wrath; they come into the light.
But all who practice evil deeds are guilty in God’s sight.Without the Son, all perish; the verdict is decreed.
All those who fail to trust Christ’s Name condemned will ever be.
Lord, give me boldness to proclaim Your message to the lost,

[Joh 3:5] Awaked By Sinai’s Awful Sound
Awaked by Sinai’s awful sound,
My soul in bonds of guilt I found,
And knew not where to go;
Eternal truth did loud proclaim,
“The sinner must be born again,
Or sink to endless woe.”Amazed I stood, but could not tell
Which way to shun the gates of hell,
For death and hell drew near;
I strove, indeed, but strove in vain;
“The sinner must be born again”
Still sounded in my ear.When to the law I trembling fled,
It poured its curses on my head;
I no relief could find.
This fearful truth increased my pain;
“The sinner must be born again”
O’erwhelmed my tortured mind.The saints I heard with rapture tell
How Jesus conquered death and hell,
And broke the fowler’s snare;
Yet when I found this truth remain,
“The sinner must be born again,”
I sank in deep despair.But while I thus in anguish lay,
The gracious Savior passed this way,
And felt His pity move;
The sinner, by His justice slain,
Now by His grace is born again;

[Joh 3:5] Blessèd Jesus! Here We Stand
Blessèd Jesus! here we stand,
Met to do as Thou hast spoken;
And this child, at Thy command,
Now we bring to Thee, in token
That to Christ it here is given;
For of such shall be his heaven.Yes! Thy warning voice is plain,
And we fain would keep it duly:
He who is not born again,
Heart and life renewing truly,
Born of water and the Spirit,
Will God’s kingdom ne’er inherit.Make it, Head, Thy member now;
Shepherd, take Thy lamb and feed it;
Prince of Peace, its peace be Thou;
Way of Life, to Heaven, O lead it:
Vine, this branch may nothing sever,
Grafted firm in Thee for ever.Now upon Thy heart it lies,
What our hearts so dearly treasure;
Heavenward lead our burdened sighs,
Pour Thy blessing without measure;
Write the name we now have given,

A ruler once came to Jesus by night
To ask Him the way of salvation and light;
The Master made answer in words true and plain,
“Ye must be born again.”Refrain

I verily, verily, say unto thee,
Ye must be born again.”Ye children of men, attend to the Word,
So solemnly uttered by Jesus the Lord;
And let not this message to you be in vain,

O ye who would enter that glorious rest,
And sing with the ransomed the song of the blest,
The life everlasting if ye would obtain,
“Ye must be born again.”Refrain
A dear one in Heaven thy heart yearns to see,
At the beautiful gate may be watching for thee,
Then list to the note of this solemn refrain,
“Ye must be born again.”Refrain
