  What shall I do, my God to love, My loving God to praise! The length, and breadth, and height to prove And depth of sovereign grace? Thy sovereign grace to all extends, Immense and unconfined; From age to age it never ends, It reaches all mankind. Throughout the world its breadth is known, Wide as infinity, So wide it never passed by one; Or it had passed by me. Come quickly, then, my Lord, and take Possession of Thine own; My longing heart vouchsafe to make Thine everlasting throne. Assert Thy claim, receive Thy right, Come quickly from above, And sink me to perfection’s height, The depth of humble love.

  Come, Thou everlasting Spirit, Bring to every thankful mind All the Savior’s dying merit, All His sufferings for mankind! True Recorder of His passion, Now the living faith impart; Now reveal His great salvation; Preach His Gospel to our heart. Come, Thou Witness of His dying; Come, Remembrancer divine! Let us feel Thy power, applying Christ to every soul, and mine!   Enthroned on high, almighty Lord! The Holy Ghost send down; Fulfill in us Thy faithful word, And all Thy mercies crown. Though on our heads no tongues of fire Their wondrous powers impart, Grant, Savior, what we more desire, Thy Spirit in our heart.   Holy Ghost, my Comforter, Now from highest Heaven appear, Shed Thy gracious radiance here. Thou the heart’s most precious Guest, Thou of comforters the best, Give to us, o’erladen, rest. Blessèd Sun of grace, o’er all Faithful hearts who on Thee call Let Thy light and solace fall. What without Thy aid is wrought, Skillful deed or wisest thought, God will count but vain and naught. Cleanse us, Lord, from sinful stain, On the parchèd spirit rain, Heal the wounded of its pain. Bend the stubborn will to Thine, Melt the cold with fire divine, Erring hearts to right incline. Grant us, Lord, who cry to Thee, Steadfast in the faith to be, Give Thy gift of charity. May we live in holiness, And in death find happiness, And abide with Thee in bliss!
