• [Joh 13:7] God Moves In A Mysterious Way

  God moves in a mysterious way His wonders to perform; He plants His footsteps in the sea And rides upon the storm. Deep in unfathomable mines Of never failing skill He treasures up His bright designs And works His sovereign will. Ye fearful saints, fresh courage take; The clouds ye so much dread Are big with mercy and shall break In blessings on your head. Judge not the Lord by feeble sense, But trust Him for His grace; Behind a frowning providence He hides a smiling face. His purposes will ripen fast, Unfolding every hour; The bud may have a bitter taste, But sweet will be the flower. Blind unbelief is sure to err And scan His work in vain; God is His own interpreter, And He will make it plain.

• [Joh 13:7] We’ll Understand It Better By And By

  We are tossed and driv’n on the restless sea of time; Somber skies and howling tempests oft succeed a bright sunshine; In that land of perfect day, when the mists have rolled away, We will understand it better by and by. Refrain By and by, when the morning comes, When the saints of God are gathered home, We’ll tell the story how we’ve overcome, For we’ll understand it better by and by. We are often destitute of the things that life demands, Want of food and want of shelter, thirsty hills and barren lands; We are trusting in the Lord, and according to God’s Word, We will understand it better by and by. Refrain Trials dark on every hand, and we cannot understand All the ways that God could lead us to that blessèd promised land; But He guides us with His eye, and we’ll follow till we die, For we’ll understand it better by and by. • [Joh 13:13] O Lord And Master Of Us All

  O Lord and Master of us all, Whate’er our name or sign, We own Thy sway, we hear Thy call, We test our lives by Thine. Thou judgest us; Thy purity Doth all our lusts condemn; The love that draws us nearer Thee Is hot with wrath to them. Our thoughts lie open to Thy sight And naked to Thy glance Our secret sins are in the light Of Thy pure countenance. Yet weak and blinded though we be, Thou dost our service own; We bring our varying gifts to Thee, And Thou rejectest none. To Thee our full humanity, Its joys and pains belong; The wrong of man to man on Thee Inflicts a deeper wrong. Who hates, hates Thee; who loves, becomes Therein to Thee allied: All sweet accords of hearts and homes In Thee are multiplied. Apart from Thee all gain is loss, All labor vainly done; The solemn shadow of the cross Is better than the sun. Our Friend, our Brother, and our Lord, What may Thy service be? Nor name, nor form, nor ritual word, But simply following Thee. We faintly hear, we dimly see, In differing phrase we pray; But dim or clear, we own in Thee The Light, the Truth, the Way.

  O Love! O Life! Our faith and sight Thy presence maketh one, As through transfigured clouds of white We trace the noonday sun. So, to our mortal eyes subdued, Flesh-veiled, but not concealed, We know in Thee the fatherhood And heart of God revealed. We faintly hear, we dimly see, In differing phrase we pray; But, dim or clear, we own in Thee The Light, the Truth, the Way! Our Friend, our Brother, and our Lord, What may Thy service be? Nor name, nor form, nor ritual word, But simply following Thee. Thy litanies, sweet offices Of love and gratitude; Thy sacramental liturgies, The joy of doing good.

  Oft we lose the narrow pathway, As we seek the land of day; Yet the Master goes before us: In His steps we find the way. Refrain What would Jesus do? Make His way the way for you. In a world of sin and sorrow He was tried and proven true, So we always know what He would do. Do not weary of well doing, From the mockery of men, Jesus, too, was scorned, rejected, Yet reviled them not again.
