• [Joh 10:9] Jesus Opened Up The Way

  Jesus Christ the Lord opened up the way to glory When He died to save us from our ruined state, And He asks that we shall go tell the world the story, How His blood will save them from their awful fate. Refrain Jesus opened up the way to heaven’s gate When He died on the cross, To redeem all the lost; He prepared the road that leads To His abode, ’Tis a road marked by blood But it leads us home to God. And the way is marked by the footprints of the Savior, With His blood he made it, made it plain and straight; If you walk that way, it will lead you into heaven, Lead you safely into glory’s golden gate. Refrain Sinner, will you come and join in this heav’nly journey, Walk the bloody pathway that the Savior trod; Then when life is over and all the sheaves are garnered, You will meet the Savior and be not afraid.   I met the Good Shepherd, just now on the plain, As homeward He carried His lost one again; I marveled how gently His burden He bore; And as He passed by me, I knelt to adore. O Shepherd, Good Shepherd, Thy wounds they are deep; The wolves have sore hurt Thee in saving Thy sheep. Thy raiment all over with crimson is dyed; And what is this wound they have made in Thy side? O Shepherd, Good Shepherd, and is it for me This grievous affliction has fallen on Thee? Thy wounds make me love Thee, my heart shall be Thine; With Thee I will journey, my Shepherd divine.

  I was wandering and weary When my Savior came unto me; For the ways of sin grew dreary, And the world has ceased to woo me; And I thought I heard Him say, As He came along His way, Refrain O wand’ring souls, come near Me, My sheep would never fear Me, My sheep would never fear Me: I am the Shepherd true. At first I would not hearken, And put off till the morrow; But life began to darken, And I was sick with sorrow; Still I thought I heard Him say, As He came along His way, Refrain At last I stopped to listen, His voice could not deceive me; I saw His kind eyes glisten, So anxious to relieve me, I was sure I heard Him say, As He came along His way, Refrain He took me on His shoulder, And tenderly He kissed me; He bade my love be bolder, And said how He had missed me; Then I heard Him sweetly say, As He went along His way, Refrain I thought His love would weaken, As more and more He knew me; But it burneth like a beacon, And its light and heat go thro’ me. • [Joh 10:30] O One With God The Father

  O One with God the Father, In majesty and might, The Brightness of His glory, Eternal Light of Light, O’er this our home of darkness Thy rays are streaming now; The shadows flee before Thee, The world’s true Light art Thou. Yet, Lord, we but darkly, O heavenly Light, arise, Dispel these mists that shroud us, And hide Thee from our eyes. We long to track the footprints That Thou Thyself hast trod; We long to see the pathway That leads to Thee our God. O Jesus, shine around us, With radiance of Thy grace; O Jesus, turn upon us The brightness of Thy face. We need no star to guide us, As on our way we press, If Thou Thy light vouchsafest, O Sun of Righteousness.
