  All that’s good, and great, and true, All that is and is to be, Be it old or be it new, Comes, O Father, comes from Thee. Mercies dawn with every day, Newer, brighter than before; And the sun’s declining ray Layeth others up in store. Not a bird that doth not sing Sweetest praises to Thy Name; Not an insect on the wing But Thy wonders doth proclaim. Every blade and every tree All in happy concert ring, And in wondrous harmony Join in praises to their King. Fill us, then, with love divine; Grant that we, though toiling here, May in spirit, being Thine, See and hear Thee everywhere. May we all, with songs of praise, Whilst on earth Thy Name adore, Till with angel choirs we raise Songs of praise forevermore.

  God of creation, all-pow’rful, all-wise, Lord of the universe, rich with surprise, Maker, Sustainer, and Ruler of all, We are your children—you hear when we call. God of the ages, through time’s troubled years, You are the one in whom hist’ry coheres; Nations and empires your purpose fulfill, Moving in freedom, yet working your will. God of redemption, who wrought our rebirth, Called out your church from the ends of the earth, Still you are Savior, put darkness to flight; Overcome sin by salvation’s pure light. God of your people, your Word still stands fast; Do for us now as you’ve done in the past! Yours is the kingdom, your triumph we claim, Challenging evil in Jesus’ strong name. • [Joh 1:3] Jesus Is God!

  Jesus is God! The solid earth, The ocean broad and bright, The countless stars like golden dust, That strew the sky at night, The wheeling storm, the dreadful fire, The pleasant wholesome air, The summer’s sun, the winter’s frost, His own creation were. Jesus is God! The glorious bands Of golden angels sing Songs of adoring praise to Him, Their Maker and their King. He was true God in Bethlehem’s crib, On Calvary’s cross true God, He Who in Heav’n eternal reigned, In time on earth abode. Jesus is God! Let sorrow come, And pain, and every ill, All are worthwhile, for all are means His glory to fulfill; Worthwhile a thousand years of woe To speak one little word, If by that “I believe” we own The Godhead of our Lord. Jesus is God! O! could I now But compass earth and sea, To teach and tell the single truth, How happy should I be! O! had I but an angel’s voice, I would proclaim so loud, Jesus, the good, the beautiful, Is everlasting God.

  O give thanks to Him Who made Morning light and evening shade; Source and Giver of all good, Nightly sleep and daily food; Quickener of our wearied powers, Guard of our unconscious hours. O give thanks to nature’s King, Who made every breathing thing; His, our warm and sentient frame, His, the mind’s immortal flame. O how close the ties that bind Spirits to the Eternal Mind! O give thanks with heart and lip, For we are His workmanship; And all creatures are His care: Not a bird that cleaves the air Falls unnoticed; but who can Speak the Father’s love to man?   See the gold upon the hills, See the opal in the sky; Trembling dawn each valley fills, Christ’s own morning draweth nigh. His the kingdom, His the crown, His the ages yet to be; All the lands of fair renown, And the islands of the sea. All the hungers of the race, All the wounds from which men cry: All are met in Jesus’ grace; He doth heal and satisfy. None are strangers to His care, Royal gifts for all are free; All mankind His brethren are, And the world His Galilee. Victor He, when conquerors fail, King o’er all, when monarchs die; He shall through the earth prevail, Win the last long victory.   There’s not a tint that paints the rose, Or decks the lily fair, Or streaks the humblest flower that blows, But God has placed it there. There’s not of grass a single blade, Or leaf of loveliest green, Where heav’nly skill is not displayed, And heav’nly wisdom seen. There’s not a star whose twinkling light Shines on the distant earth And cheers the silent gloom of night, But God has given it birth. There’s not a place on earth’s vast round In ocean deep, or air, Where skill and wisdom are not found, For God is everywhere. Around, beneath, below, above, As far as space extends, There He displays His boundless love, And power with mercy blends.

John 13:7

• [Joh 13:7] God Moves In A Mysterious Way

  God moves in a mysterious way His wonders to perform; He plants His footsteps in the sea And rides upon the storm. Deep in unfathomable mines Of never failing skill He treasures up His bright designs And works His sovereign will. Ye fearful saints, fresh courage take; The clouds ye so much dread Are big with mercy and shall break In blessings on your head. Judge not the Lord by feeble sense, But trust Him for His grace; Behind a frowning providence He hides a smiling face. His purposes will ripen fast, Unfolding every hour; The bud may have a bitter taste, But sweet will be the flower. Blind unbelief is sure to err And scan His work in vain; God is His own interpreter, And He will make it plain.

• [Joh 13:7] We’ll Understand It Better By And By

  We are tossed and driv’n on the restless sea of time; Somber skies and howling tempests oft succeed a bright sunshine; In that land of perfect day, when the mists have rolled away, We will understand it better by and by. Refrain By and by, when the morning comes, When the saints of God are gathered home, We’ll tell the story how we’ve overcome, For we’ll understand it better by and by. We are often destitute of the things that life demands, Want of food and want of shelter, thirsty hills and barren lands; We are trusting in the Lord, and according to God’s Word, We will understand it better by and by.
