Context10:10 The Lord is the only true God.
He is the living God and the everlasting King.
When he shows his anger the earth shakes.
None of the nations can stand up to his fury.
Jeremiah 32:37
Context32:37 ‘I will certainly regather my people from all the countries where I will have exiled 4 them in my anger, fury, and great wrath. I will bring them back to this place and allow them to live here in safety.
1 tn Heb “Lord Yahweh.” The translation follows the ancient Jewish tradition of substituting the Hebrew word for God for the proper name Yahweh.
2 tn Heb “this place.” Some see this as a reference to the temple but the context has been talking about what goes on in the towns of Judah and Jerusalem and the words that follow, meant as a further explanation, are applied to the whole land.
3 tn Heb “the trees of/in the field and the fruit of/in the ground.”
4 tn The verb here should be interpreted as a future perfect; though some of the people have already been exiled (in 605 and 597
