Jeremiah 2:23
Context2:23 “How can you say, ‘I have not made myself unclean.
I have not paid allegiance to 1 the gods called Baal.’
Just look at the way you have behaved in the Valley of Hinnom! 2
Think about the things you have done there!
You are like a flighty, young female camel
that rushes here and there, crisscrossing its path. 3
Jeremiah 6:19
Context6:19 Hear this, you peoples of the earth: 4
‘Take note! 5 I am about to bring disaster on these people.
It will come as punishment for their scheming. 6
For they have paid no attention to what I have said, 7
and they have rejected my law.
Jeremiah 8:2
Context8:2 They will be spread out and exposed to the sun, the moon and the stars. 8 These are things they 9 adored and served, things to which they paid allegiance, 10 from which they sought guidance, and worshiped. The bones of these people 11 will never be regathered and reburied. They will be like manure used to fertilize the ground. 12
Jeremiah 11:10
Context11:10 They have gone back to the evil ways 13 of their ancestors of old who refused to obey what I told them. They, too, have paid allegiance to 14 other gods and worshiped them. Both the nation of Israel and the nation of Judah 15 have violated the covenant I made with their ancestors.
Jeremiah 36:31
Context36:31 I will punish him and his descendants and the officials who serve him for the wicked things they have done. 16 I will bring on them, the citizens of Jerusalem, 17 and the people of Judah all the disaster that I threatened to do to them. I will punish them because I threatened them but they still paid no heed.”’” 18
