• [Jer 7:23] O How Happy Are They Who The Savior Obey

  O how happy are they Who the Savior obey, And have laid up their treasure above! Tongue cannot express The sweet comfort and peace Of a soul in its earliest love. That comfort was mine, When the favor divine I first found in the blood of the Lamb; When my heart it believed, What a joy it received, What a heaven in Jesus’ Name! ’Twas a heaven below, My Redeemer to know, And the angels could do nothing more, Than to fall at His feet, And the story repeat, And the Lover of sinners adore. Jesus all the day long Was my joy and my song; O that all His salvation may see! He hath loved me, I cried, He hath suffered, and died, To redeem such a rebel as me. On the wings of His love, I was carried above All sin, and temptation, and pain; I could not believe, That I ever should grieve, That I ever should suffer again. I rode on the sky, Freely justified I! Nor envied Elijah his seat; My soul mounted higher, In a chariot of fire, And the moon it was under my feet. O the rapturous height Of the holy delight, Which I felt in the life giving blood! Of my Savior possessed I was perfectly blest, As if filled with the fullness of God.

• [Jer 15:16] Let The Joy Overflow

  There’s a clear fountain flowing From the bright throne above, And its waters are glowing With the sunshine of love; Take the blest consolation, Which the Lord will bestow, Take the cup of salvation— Let the joy overflow. Refrain O the joy! With this wondrous salvation Be our hearts all aglow; O the joy! Let the blessing run over, And joy overflow. Many hearts need the story— Are athirst for His grace; Go to them with His glory Shining out from your face; Tell of Jesus your Savior! If His mercies you know, Show the light of His favor— Let the joy overflow. Refrain Be our lives freely yielded to the Savior’s command; By His care ever shielded And upheld by His hand; In the pathways of sadness, Sweetest lilies may grow; Let us sow seeds of gladness— Let the joy overflow.   Arise! arise, with joy survey The glory of the latter day; Already is the dawn begun, Which marks at hand a rising sun, Which marks at hand a rising sun. “Behold the way!” ye heralds, cry; Spare not, but lift your voices high; Convey the sound from pole to pole, “Glad tidings” to the captive soul, “Glad tidings” to the captive soul. “Behold the way!” to Zion’s hill: Where Israel’s God delights to dwell!
