Jeremiah 7:23

• [Jer 7:23] O How Happy Are They Who The Savior Obey

  O how happy are they Who the Savior obey, And have laid up their treasure above! Tongue cannot express The sweet comfort and peace Of a soul in its earliest love. That comfort was mine, When the favor divine I first found in the blood of the Lamb; When my heart it believed, What a joy it received, What a heaven in Jesus’ Name! ’Twas a heaven below, My Redeemer to know, And the angels could do nothing more, Than to fall at His feet, And the story repeat, And the Lover of sinners adore. Jesus all the day long Was my joy and my song; O that all His salvation may see! He hath loved me, I cried, He hath suffered, and died, To redeem such a rebel as me. On the wings of His love, I was carried above All sin, and temptation, and pain; I could not believe, That I ever should grieve, That I ever should suffer again. I rode on the sky, Freely justified I! Nor envied Elijah his seat; My soul mounted higher, In a chariot of fire, And the moon it was under my feet. O the rapturous height Of the holy delight, Which I felt in the life giving blood! Of my Savior possessed I was perfectly blest, As if filled with the fullness of God.

  O beautiful for spacious skies, For amber waves of grain; For purple mountain majesties Above the fruited plain! America! America! God shed His grace on thee, And crown thy good with brotherhood, From sea to shining sea. O beautiful for heroes proved In liberating strife, Who more than self their country loved, And mercy more than life! America! America! May God thy gold refine, Till all success be nobleness, And every gain divine. O beautiful for patriot dream That sees beyond the years Thine alabaster cities gleam, Undimmed by human tears! America! America! God mend thine every flaw, Confirm thy soul in self control, Thy liberty in law.

  Lord God of Hosts, within Whose hand Dominion rests on sea and land, Before Whose word of life or death The strength of nations is but breath: O King, enthroned all thrones above, Give strength unto the land we love. Thou Breath of Life since time began, Breathing upon the lips of man, Hast taught each kindred race to raise United word to sound Thy praise: So, in this land, join, we beseech, All hearts and lips in single speech. To George our saint Thou gavest grace Without one fear all foes to face, And to confess by faithful death That Word of Life which was his breath. O help us, Helper of Saint George, To fear not bonds that man can forge. Arm us like him, who in Thy trust Beat down the dragon in the dust; So that we too may tread down sin And with Thy saints a crown may win. Help us, O God, that we may be A land acceptable to Thee.

• [Jer 17:5] Cursed Is The One Who Trusts In Man

  Cursed is the one who trusts in man, Who leans on him for might. He turns away from God the Lord; His heart rejects what’s right. He’s like a bush out in the waste; Good times will pass him by. His place is parched and desolate, With none to hear his cry. But blessed the man who trusts the Lord; God is his hope and stay. He’s like a tree beside a stream; Its roots drink deep each day. It never fears in summertime; Its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a drought; Its fruit is always seen. Lord, may I never in mankind Place confidence or hope. A fruitless, barren state that brings, With none to help me cope. But may I always trust in You; Your Word will quench my thirst. You’ll give me strength for every trial; I’ll always put You first.

Jeremiah 31:10

• [Jer 31:10] Come, All Ye Sons Of God

  Come, all ye sons of God, who have received the priesthood, Go spread the Gospel wide, and gather in His people, The latter day work has begun, to gather scattered Israel in And bring them back to Zion to praise the Lamb. Come, all ye scattered sheep, and listen to your Shepherd, While you the blessing reap, which long have been predicted; By prophets long it’s been foretold He’ll gather you into His fold And bring you home to Zion to praise the Lamb. Repent and be baptized, and have your sins remitted, And get the Spirit’s zeal; O then you’ll be united; Go cast upon Him all your cares; He will regard your humble prayer And bring you home to Zion to praise the Lamb. And when your grief is o’er and ended your affliction, Your spirits then will soar to await the resurrection; And then His presence you’ll enjoy, in heavenly bliss your time employ, A thousand years in Zion to praise the Lamb.

  Refrain There is a balm in Gilead To make the wounded whole; There is a balm in Gilead To heal the sin sick soul. Some times I feel discouraged, And think my work’s in vain, But then the Holy Spirit Revives my soul again.
