Judges 20:4

20:4 The Levite, 1  the husband of the murdered woman, spoke up, “I and my concubine stopped in 2  Gibeah in the territory of Benjamin 3  to spend the night.

Judges 5:27

Context

5:27 Between her feet he collapsed,

he fell limp 4  and was lifeless; 5 

between her feet he collapsed and fell limp,

in the spot where he collapsed,

there he fell limp – violently murdered! 6 

Judges 9:5

Context
9:5 He went to his father’s home in Ophrah and murdered his half-brothers, 7  the seventy legitimate 8  sons of Jerub-Baal, on one stone. Only Jotham, Jerub-Baal’s youngest son, escaped, 9  because he hid.

Judges 14:19

Context

14:19 The Lord’s spirit empowered him. He went down to Ashkelon and murdered thirty men. He took their clothes 10  and gave them 11  to the men who had solved the riddle. He was furious as he went back home. 12

4 tn Heb “he fell.” The same Hebrew expression occurs two more times in this verse.

8 tn The word “legitimate” is not in the Hebrew text, but is supplied in the translation for clarification.

9 tn Heb “remained.”

10 tn Heb “equipment”; or “gear.”

11 tn Heb “changes [of clothes].”

12 tn Heb “he went up to his father’s house.”
