Context
1:27 Pure and undefiled religion before¹ God the Father² is this: to care for orphans and widows in their misfortune and to keep oneself unstained by the world.

James 5:9

5:9 Do not grumble against one another, brothers and sisters,³ so that you may not be judged. See, the judge stands before the gates!⁴

⁴sn The term gates is used metaphorically here. The physical referent would be the entrances to the city, but the author uses the term to emphasize the imminence of the judge’s approach.

displaying	set the max displaying in one page.	"20" will set displaying max to 20 per page
range	set searching range	"All Bible", "Old Testament", "New Testament"
