1 tn Heb “for us.” The plural pronoun refers to the Lord, the seraphs, and the rest of the heavenly assembly.

2 tn Heb “silent” (so NASB, NIV, TEV, NLT); CEV “have held my temper.”

3 sn The imagery depicts the Lord as a warrior who is eager to fight and can no longer hold himself back from the attack.

4 tn Heb “remember the former things, from antiquity”; KJV, ASV “the former things of old.”

5 tn Heb “and there is no other” (so NASB, NIV, NRSV).

6 tn Heb “Therefore I set my face like flint.”
