• [Isa 6:2] Before His Eye

  Faces covered, wings resplendent, Seraphim before Him bow! Angels tremble, martyrs weep, and saints perfected praise Him now! Holy is the angels’ Maker, He who spread His stars in the skies. Holy is the Judge of Creation, all lies bare before His eyes! Woe is me, for I am ruined! For my eyes have seen the King! Robed in righteousness, and holy: Hear the Voice of Judgment ring! All unclean, my lips, my spirit, vile and foul in all I do! All corrupt, my heart within me, wretched, wicked through and through! Every hope I must abandon! Guilty, I await His stroke. Now must come His righteous sentence: Wait! A Bright Form parts the smoke! Bleeding feet stride through the temple! Christ approaches, weeping love! Wounded hands remove my filthiness, God’s caress in every move. Freely righteous! Full atonement! Justified, from sin set free! By the Word of God the Father, I’m declared as pure as HE! At the Cross, His wounds acquit me! Fatal wounds proclaim His praise! And the Empty Tomb sings His glories: Justice is assuaged by Grace!

  Lead to the shadow of the Rock of Refuge My weary feet; Give me the water from the life-stream flowing Clear, pure and sweet. • [Isa 32:2] Sheltering Rock, The

  There is a Rock in a weary land, Its shadow falls on the burning sand, Inviting pilgrims as they pass, To seek a shade in the wilderness. Then why will ye die? O why will ye die? When the sheltering Rock is so near by, O why will ye die? There is a Well in a desert plain, Its waters call with entreating strain, “Ho, every thirsting, sin sick soul, Come, freely drink, and thou shalt be whole.” Then why will ye die? O why will ye die? When the living Well is so near by, O why will ye die? A great fold stands with its portals wide, The sheep astray on the mountain side; The Shepherd climbs o’er mountains steep; He’s searching now for His wandering sheep. Then why will ye die? There is a cross where the Savior died; His blood flowed out in a crimson tide, A sacrifice for sins of men, And free to all who will enter in. Then why will ye die? O why will ye die? Isaiah 53:6

• [Isa 53:6] I Was A Wandering Sheep

  I was a wandering sheep, I did not love the fold; I did not love my Shepherd’s voice, I would not be controlled. I was a wayward child, I did not love my home; I did not love my Father’s voice, I loved afar to roam. The Shepherd sought His sheep, The Father sought His child; They followed me o’er vale and hill, O’er deserts waste and wild; They found me nigh to death, Famished and faint and lone; They bound me with the bands of love, They saved the wand’ring one. They spoke in tender love, They raised my drooping head, They gently closed my bleeding wounds, My fainting soul they fed; They washed my filth away, They made me clean and fair; They brought me to my home in peace, The long sought wanderer. Jesus my Shepherd is: ’Twas He that loved my soul; ’Twas He that washed me in His blood, ’Twas He that made me whole. ’Twas He that sought the lost, That found the wand’ring sheep, ’Twas He that brought me to the fold, ’Tis He that still doth keep. No more a wandering sheep, I love to be controlled; I love my tender Shepherd’s voice, I love the peaceful fold. No more a wayward child, I seek no more to roam; I love my heavenly Father’s voice, I love, I love His home!

• [Isa 53:6] Like Sheep We Went Astray

  Like sheep we went astray, And broke the fold of God, Each wandering in a different way, But all the downward road. How dreadful was the hour When God our wanderings laid And did at once His vengeance pour, Upon the Shepherd’s head! How glorious was the grace When Christ sustained the stroke! His life and blood the Shepherd pays A ransom for the flock. His honor and His breath Were taken both away, Joined with the wicked in His death, And made as vile as they. But God shall raise His head O’er all the sons of men, And make Him see a numerous seed, To recompense His pain. “I’ll give Him,” saith the Lord, “A portion with the strong; He shall possess a large reward; And hold His honors long.”

  Our sins, our sorrows, Lord, were laid on Thee; Thy stripes have healed, Thy bonds have set us free; And now Thy toil is o’er, Thy grief and pain Have passed away; the veil is rent in twain. Now hast Thou laid Thee down in perfect peace Where all the wicked from their troubling cease, And tranquil Sabbath in the grave to keep; Thy Father giveth His Belovèd sleep. Yet in Thy glory, on the throne above, Thou wast abiding ever, Love of Love, Eternal, filling all created things With Thine own presence, Jesus, King of kings!
