Isaiah 50:4
-
[Isa 50:4] Awake, My Soul, Stretch Every Nerve
Awake, my soul, stretch every nerve,
And press with vigor on;
A heavenly race demands thy zeal,
And an immortal crown,
And an immortal crown.A cloud of witnesses around
Hold thee in full survey;
Forget the steps already trod,
And onward urge thy way,
And onward urge thy way.’Tis God’s all animating voice
That calls thee from on high;
’Tis His own hand presents the prize
To thine aspiring eye,
To thine aspiring eye.Then wake, my soul, stretch every nerve,
And press with vigor on,
A heavenly race demands thy zeal,
And an immortal crown,
And an immortal crown.Play source: Cyberhymnal -
[Isa 50:4] Come, My Soul, Thou Must Be Waking
Come, my soul, thou must be waking;
Now is breaking over the earth another day;
Come to Him Who made this splendor;
See thou render all thy feeble powers can pay.Thou, too, hail the light returning
Ready burning be the incense of thy powers;
For the night is safely ended,
God hath tended with His care thy helpless hours.Pray that He may prosper ever
Each endeavor when thine aim is good and true;
But that He may ever thwart thee,
And convert thee, when thou evil wouldst pursue.Think that He thy ways beholdeth;
He unfoldeth every fault that lurks within;
He the hidden shame glossed over
Can discover, and discern each deed of sin.Mayest thou on life’s last morrow,
Free from sorrow, pass away in slumber sweet:
And, released from death’s dark sadness,
Rise in gladness that far brighter Sun to greet.Only God’s free gifts abuse not,
Light refuse not, but His Spirit’s voice obey;
Thou with Him shalt dwell, beholding
Light enfolding all things in unclouded day.Play source: Cyberhymnal
Isaiah 53:2-3
-
[Isa 53:3] Ah, Holy Jesus
Ah, holy Jesus, how hast Thou offended,
That man to judge Thee hath in hate pretended?
By foes derided, by Thine own rejected,
O most afflicted.Who was the guilty? Who brought this upon Thee?
Alas, my treason, Jesus, hath undone Thee.
’Twas I, Lord, Jesus, I it was denied Thee!
I crucified Thee.Lo, the Good Shepherd for the sheep is offered;
The slave hath sinned, and the Son hath suffered;
For man’s atonement, while he nothing heedeth,
God intercedeth.For me, kind Jesus, was Thy incarnation,
Thy mortal sorrow, and Thy life’s oblation;
Thy death of anguish and Thy bitter passion,
For my salvation.Therefore, kind Jesus, since I cannot pay Thee,
I do adore Thee, and will ever pray Thee,
Think on Thy pity and Thy love unswerving,
Not my deserving.Play source: Cyberhymnal -
[Isa 53:3] Hail, Thou Once Despised Jesus
Hail, Thou once despisèd Jesus! Hail, Thou Galilean King!
Thou didst suffer to release us; Thou didst free salvation bring.
Hail, Thou universal Savior, who hast borne our sin and shame!
By Thy merits we find favor; life is given through Thy Name.Paschal Lamb, by God appointed, all our sins on Thee were laid;
By almighty love anointed, Thou hast full atonement made.
Every sin may be forgiven through the virtue of Thy blood;
Opened is the gate of Heaven, reconciled are we with God.Jesus, hail! enthroned in glory, there forever to abide;
All the heavenly hosts adore Thee, seated at Thy Father’s side.
There for sinners Thou art pleading; there Thou dost our place prepare;
Thou for saints art interceding till in glory they appear.Worship, honor, power and blessing Christ is worthy to receive;
Loudest praises, without ceasing, right it is for us to give.
Help, ye bright angelic spirits, bring your sweetest, noblest lays;
Help to sing of Jesus’ merits, help to chant Emmanuel’s praise!Play source: Cyberhymnal -
[Isa 53:3] Hallelujah! What A Savior
Man of Sorrows! what a name
For the Son of God, who came
Ruined sinners to reclaim.
Hallelujah! What a Savior!Bearing shame and scoffing rude,
In my place condemned He stood;
Sealed my pardon with His blood.
Hallelujah! What a Savior!Guilty, vile, and helpless we;
Spotless Lamb of God was He;
“Full atonement!” can it be?
Hallelujah! What a Savior!Lifted up was He to die;
“It is finished!” was His cry;
Now in Heav’n exalted high.
Hallelujah! What a Savior!When He comes, our glorious King,
All His ransomed home to bring,
Then anew His song we’ll sing:
Hallelujah! What a Savior!Play source: Cyberhymnal -
[Isa 53:3] It Is Finished! Man Of Sorrows
“It is finished!” Man of Sorrows!
From Thy cross our frailty borrows
Strength to bear and conquer thus.While extended there, we view Thee:
Mighty Suff’rer, draw us to Thee,
Sufferer victorious!Not in vain for us uplifted:
Man of Sorrows, wonder gifted
May that sacred emblem be.Lifted high amid the ages:
Guide of heroes, saints, and sages,
May it guide us still to Thee.Still to Thee, whose love unbounded
Sorrow’s depth’s for us has sounded,
Perfected by conflicts sore.Honored be Thy cross forever:
Star, that points our high endeavor,
Whither Thou hast gone before!Play source: Cyberhymnal -
[Isa 53:3] Lord Is Come!, The
The Lord is come! On Syrian soil,
The child of poverty and toil;
The Man of Sorrows, born to know
Each varying shade of human woe:
His joy, His glory, to fulfill,
In earth and Heav’n, His Father’s will;
On lonely mount, by festive board,
On bitter cross, despised, adored.The Lord is come! In Him we trace
The fullness of God’s truth and grace;
Throughout those words and acts divine
Gleams of th’eternal splendor shine;
And from His inmost Spirit flow,
As from a height of sunlit snow,
The rivers of perennial life,
To heal and sweeten nature’s strife.The Lord is come! In every heart
Where truth and mercy claim apart;
In every land where right is might,
And deeds of darkness shun the light;
In every church where faith and love
Lift earthward thoughts to things above;
In every holy, happy home,
We bless Thee, Lord, that Thou hast come.Play source: Cyberhymnal -
[Isa 53:3] My Crucified Savior
My crucified Savior, despised and contemned,
Thou innocent victim for sinners condemned,
Thy garments are blood-stained, Thy spirit doth groan,
In agony prostrate, Thou suff’rest alone.Thou weepest and moanest in conflict and prayer,
And writhest in agony, pain and despair;
In thirty years’ anguish our path Thou hast trod,
And diest at last to redeem us to God.Our Savior thus finished God’s plan with our race,
And laid the foundation for pardon and grace.
And then rose triumphant, the conquering Lord,
Appeased the Creator and mankind restored.Restored to the bliss that was lost in the fall,
Yea, greater, for Jesus prepared for us all
Eternal salvation and mansions above;
Come, poor, burdened sinners, rejoice in His love.Yea, come, trembling sinner, come just as thou art,
Thy cares and thy sorrows to Jesus impart;
In Him seek salvation from death and the grave,
For Jesus is willing and mighty to save.Play source: Cyberhymnal -
[Isa 53:3] O Dearest Jesus
O dearest Jesus, what law hast Thou broken
That such sharp sentence should on Thee be spoken?
Of what great crime hast Thou to make confession—
What dark transgression?They crown Thy head with thorns, they smite, they scourge Thee;
With cruel mockings to the cross they urge Thee;
They give Thee gall to drink, they still decry Thee;
They crucify Thee.Whence come these sorrows, whence this mortal anguish?
It is my sins for which Thou, Lord, must languish;
Yea, all the wrath, the woe, Thou dost inherit,
This I do merit.What punishment so strange is suffered yonder!
The Shepherd dies for sheep that loved to wander;
The Master pays the debt His servants owe Him,
Who would not know Him.The sinless Son of God must die in sadness;
The sinful child of man may live in gladness;
Man forfeited his life and is acquitted—
God is committed.There was no spot in me by sin untainted;
Sick with sin’s poison, all my heart had fainted;
My heavy guilt to hell had well-nigh brought me,
Such woe it wrought me.O wondrous love, whose depth no heart hath sounded,
That brought Thee here, by foes and thieves surrounded!
All worldly pleasures, heedless, I was trying
While Thou wert dying.O mighty King, no time can dim Thy glory!
How shall I spread abroad Thy wondrous story?
How shall I find some worthy gifts to proffer?
What dare I offer?For vainly doth our human wisdom ponder—
Thy woes, Thy mercy, still transcend our wonder.
Oh, how should I do aught that could delight Thee!
Can I requite Thee?Yet unrequited, Lord, I would not leave Thee;
I will renounce whate’er doth vex or grieve Thee
And quench with thoughts of Thee and prayers most lowly
All fires unholy.But since my strength will nevermore suffice me
To crucify desires that still entice me,
To all good deeds, oh, let Thy Spirit win me
And reign within me!I’ll think upon Thy mercy without ceasing,
That earth’s vain joys to me no more be pleasing;
To do Thy will shall be my sole endeavor
Henceforth forever.Whate’er of earthly good this life may grant me,
I’ll risk for Thee; no shame, no cross, shall daunt me;
I shall not fear what man can do to harm me
Nor death alarm me.But worthless is my sacrifice, I own it;
Yet, Lord, for love’s sake Thou wilt not disown it;
Thou wilt accept my gift in Thy great meekness
Nor shame my weakness.And when, dear Lord, before Thy throne in Heaven
To me the crown of joy at last is given,
Where sweetest hymns Thy saints forever raise Thee,
I, too, shall praise Thee.Play source: Cyberhymnal -
[Isa 53:3] What Grace, O Lord, And Beauty Shone
What grace, O Lord, and beauty shone
Around Thy steps below!
What patient love was seen in all
Thy life and death of woe.For, ever on Thy burdened heart
A weight of sorrow hung;
Yet no ungentle, murmuring word
Escaped Thy silent tongue.Thy foes might hate, despise, revile,
Thy friends unfaithful prove;
Unwearied in forgiveness still,
Thy heart could only love.O give us hearts to love like Thee!
Like Thee, O Lord, to grieve
Far more for others’ sins than all
The wrongs that we receive.One with Thyself, may every eye
In us, Thy brethren, see
The gentleness and grace that spring
From union, Lord, with Thee.Play source: Cyberhymnal
Isaiah 55:7
-
[Isa 55:7] Sinners, The Voice Of God Regard
Sinners, the voice of God regard;
’Tis mercy speaks today;
He calls you by His sacred Word
From sin’s destructive way.Like the rough sea that cannot rest,
You live devoid of peace;
A thousand stings within your breast
Deprive your souls of ease.Your way is dark, and leads to hell;
Why will you persevere?
Can you in endless torments dwell,
Shut up in black despair?Why will you in the crooked ways
Of sin and folly go?
In pain you travel all your days,
To reap eternal woe.But he that turns to God shall live
Through His abounding grace:
His mercy will the guilt forgive
Of those that seek His face.Bow to the scepter of His Word,
Renouncing every sin,
Submit to Him, your sovereign Lord,
And learn His will divine.His love exceeds your highest thoughts,
He pardons like a God;
He will forgive your numerous faults,
Through a Redeemer’s blood.Play source: Cyberhymnal -
[Isa 55:7] Yes, There Is Pardon For You
Oh come to the Savior, believe in His Name,
And ask Him your heart to renew;
He waits to be gracious, O turn not away,
For now there is pardon for you.Refrain
Yes, there is pardon for you,
Yes, there is pardon for you;
For Jesus has died to redeem you,
And offers full pardon to you.The way of transgression that leads unto death,
Oh, why will you longer pursue?
How can you reject the sweet message of love
That offers full pardon for you?Refrain
Be warned of your danger; escape to the cross;
Your only salvation is there;
Believe, and that moment the Spirit of grace
Will answer your penitent prayer.Refrain

Isaiah 58:11

[Isa 58:11] In The Child Garden
In the garden, in the garden of Jesus our Savior,
We are growing, we are growing for Jesus alone.Refrain
Like the flow’rs of the morning His garden adorning,
We are growing for Jesus, His loved and His own.Little children, little children are the flow’rs in His garden,
We must blossom, we must blossom, for Jesus alone.Refrain
Jesus loves us, Jesus loves us, the flow’rs of His garden;
He will keep us, He will keep us, nor leave us alone.Refrain
We must love him, we must love Him, this Jesus our Savior,
We must trust Him, we must trust Him, in Jesus alone.Refrain

[Isa 58:11] Thy Way, Not Mine, O Lord
Thy way, not mine, O Lord,
However dark it be;
Lead me by Thine own hand,
Choose out the path for me.Smooth let it be or rough,
It will be still the best;
Winding or straight, it leads
Right onward to Thy rest.I dare not choose my lot;
I would not, if I might;
Choose Thou for me, my God,
So I shall walk aright.Take Thou my cup, and it
With joy or sorrow fill,
As best to Thee may seem;
Choose Thou my good and ill.Choose Thou for me my friends,
My sickness or my health;
Choose Thou my cares for me
My poverty or wealth.The kingdom that I seek
Is Thine: so let the way
That leads to it be Thine,
Else I must surely stray.Not mine, not mine the choice
In things or great or small;
Be Thou my Guide, my Strength
My Wisdom, and my All.Play source: Cyberhymnal
