  Jesus, Savior, come to me; Let me ever be with Thee; Come and nevermore depart, Thou Who reignest in my heart. Lord, for Thee I ever sigh, Nothing else can satisfy. Ever do I cry to Thee: Jesus, Jesus, come to me! Earthly joys can give no peace, Cannot bid my longing cease; Still to have my Jesus near, This is all my pleasure here. All that makes the angels glad, In their garb of glory clad, Only fills me with distress If Thy presence does not bless. Thou alone, my God and Lord, Art my Glory and Reward. Thou hast bled for me and died; In Thy wounds I safely hide. Come, then, Lamb for sinners slain, Come and ease me of my pain. Evermore I cry to Thee: Jesus, Jesus, come to me! Patiently I wait Thy day; For this gift, O Lord, I pray, That, when death shall come to me, My dear Jesus Thou wilt be.

Isaiah 42:1

• [Isa 42:1] Behold My Servant! See Him Rise

  Behold My Servant! see Him rise Exalted in My might! Him have I chosen, and in Him I place supreme delight. On Him, in rich effusion poured, My Spirit shall descend; My truths and judgments He shall show To earth’s remotest end. Gentle and still shall be His voice, No threats from Him proceed; The smoking flax He shall not quench, Nor break the bruisèd reed. The feeble spark to flames He’ll raise; The weak will not despise; Judgment He shall bring forth to truth, And make the fallen rise. The progress of His zeal and power Shall never know decline, Till foreign lands and distant isles Receive the law divine. He Who erected Heav’n’s bright arch, And bade the planets roll, Who peopled all the climes of earth, And formed the human soul, Thus saith the Lord, Thee have I raised, My Prophet Thee install; In right I’ve raised Thee, and in strength I’ll succor whom I call. I will establish with the lands A covenant in Thee, To give the Gentile nations light, And set the prisoners free: Asunder burst the gates of brass; The iron fetters fall; And gladsome light and liberty Are straight restored to all. I am the Lord, and by the name Of great Jehovah known; No idol shall usurp My praise, Nor mount into My throne. Lo! former scenes, predicted once Conspicuous rise to view; And future scenes, predicted now, Shall be accomplished too. Sing to the Lord in joyful strains! Let earth His praise resound, Ye Who upon the ocean dwell, And fill the isles around! O city of the Lord! begin The universal song; And let the scattered villages The cheerful notes prolong. Let Kedar’s wilderness afar Lift up its lonely voice; And let the tenants of the rock With accents rude rejoice; Till ‘midst the streams of distant lands The islands sound His praise; And all combined, with one accord, Jehovah’s glories raise.

• [Isa 44:3] Come, Holy Ghost, In Love

  Come, Holy Ghost, in love, shed on us from above Thine own bright ray! Divinely good Thou art; Thy sacred gifts impart to gladden each sad heart. O come today! Come, tenderest Friend, and best, our most delightful Guest, With soothing power. Rest, which the weary know, Shade, mid the noontide glow. Peace when deep griefs overflow. Cheer us this hour! Come, Light serene and still, our inmost bosoms fill, Dwell in each breast. We know no dawn but Thine; Send forth Thy beams divine on our dark souls to shine And make us blessed. Exalt our low desires, extinguish passion’s fires, Heal every wound. Our stubborn spirits bend, Our icy coldness end, our devious steps attend While heavenward bound. Come, all the faithful bless, let all who Christ confess His praise employ; give virtue’s rich reward, Victorious death accord, and, with our glorious Lord, Eternal joy!

  On all the earth Thy Spirit shower; The earth in righteousness renew; Thy kingdom come, and hell’s o’erpower, And to Thy scepter all subdue. Like mighty winds, or torrents fierce, Let it opposers all o’errun; And every law of sin reverse, That faith and love may make all one. Yea, let Thy Spirit in every place Its richer energy declare; While lovely tempers, fruits of grace, The kingdom of Thy Christ prepare. Grant this, O holy God and true! The ancient seers Thou didst inspire; To us perform the promise due; Descend, and crown us now with fire!

• [Isa 61:1] Hark, The Glad Sound!

  Hark, the glad sound! the Savior comes, The Savior promised long; Let every heart prepare a throne, And every voice a song. On Him the Spirit, largely poured, Exerts His sacred fire; Wisdom and might, and zeal and love, His holy breast inspire. He comes the prisoners to release, In Satan’s bondage held; The gates of brass before Him burst, The iron fetters yield. He comes, from thickest films of vice To clear the mental ray, And on the eyes oppressed with night To pour celestial day. He comes the broken heart to bind, The bleeding soul to cure; And with the treasures of His grace To enrich the humble poor. His silver trumpets publish loud The jub’lee of the Lord Our debts are all remitted now Our heritage restored. Our glad hosannas, Prince of Peace, Thy welcome shall proclaim; And Heav’n’s eternal arches ring With Thy belovèd Name.
