Isaiah 2:2

• [Isa 2:2] Behold! The Mountain Of The Lord

  Behold! the mountain of the Lord In latter days shall rise On mountain tops above the hills, And draw the wondering eyes. To this the joyful nations round, All tribes and tongues, shall flow; Up to the hill of God, they’ll say, And to His house we’ll go. The beam that shines from Zion hill Shall lighten every land; The King Who reigns in Salem’s towers Shall all the world command. Among the nations He shall judge; His judgments truth shall guide; His scepter shall protect the just, And quell the sinner’s pride. No strife shall vex Messiah’s reign Or mar the peaceful years; To plowshares soon they beat their swords To pruning hooks their spears. No longer hosts encountering hosts, Their millions slain deplore; They hang the trumpets in the hall And study war no more. Come then, O house of Jacob, come To worship at His shrine; And, walking in the light of God, With holy beauties shine. In latter days, the Mount of God, His sacred house shall rise Above the mountains and the hills, And strike the wondering eyes. To this the joyful nations round, All Tribes and Tongues shall flow; Up to the house of God they’ll say, To Jacob’s God, we’ll go. To us He’ll point the ways of truth: The sacred Path we’ll tread From Salem and from Zion-Hill His law shall then proceed. Among the nations and the isles, As Judge supreme, He’ll sit: And, vested with unbounded power Will punish or seguit. No strife shall rage, nor angry feuds, Disturb these peaceful years; To plowshares then they’ll beat their swords, To pruning hooks their spears. Then nation shan’t ’gainst nation rise, And slaughtered house deplore: They’ll lay the useless trumpet by, And study war no more. O come ye, then, of Jacob’s house, Our hearts now let us join: And, walking in the light of God, With holy beauties shine. O’er mountain tops, the mount of God In latter days, shall rise Above the summits of the hills, And draw the wondering eyes. To this the joyful nations round, All tribes and tongues shall flow; Up to the mount of God, they say, And to His house we’ll go. The beams that shine from Zion’s hill Shall lighten ev’ry land; The King, who reigns in Salem’s towers Shall the whole world command. Among the nations He shall judge, His judgments truth shall guide; His scepter shall protect the just, And crush the sinner’s pride. No war shall rage, nor hostile strife Disturb those happy years; To plough shares men shall beat their swords, To pruning hooks their spears. No longer hosts, encountering hosts, Shall crowds of slain deplore; They’ll lay the martial trumpet by, And study war no more.

• [Isa 11:9] Kingdom Is Coming, The

  From all the dark places of earth’s heathen races, O see how the thick shadows fly! The voice of salvation awakes every nation, Come over and help us, they cry. Refrain The kingdom is coming, O tell ye the story, God’s banner exalted shall be! The earth shall be full of His knowledge and glory, As waters that cover the sea. The sunlight is glancing o’er armies advancing To conquer the kingdoms of sin; Our Lord shall possess them, His presence shall bless them, His beauty shall enter them in. Refrain With shouting and singing, and jubilant ringing, Their arms of rebellion cast down; At last every nation the Lord of salvation Their King and Redeemer shall crown! Refrain

  On, like the true and brave; In Him, the strong to save, Our boast shall be; The world for Christ we sing, Our high exalted King, Whose praise from all shall ring O’er land and sea. Firm as the hills above Nor time or change can move, His Word shall be; Where sin and death abound, His truth shall yet resound, And all shall hear the sound O’er land and sea. Soon shall He come to reign, And from the tyrant’s chain The world set free; On realms of deepest night, The beams of Gospel light Shall rise in splendor bright O’er land and sea.

  Roll on, though mighty ocean! And, as thy billows flow, Bear messengers of mercy To every land below. Arise, ye gales, and waft them Safe to the destined shore; That man may sit in darkness, And death’s black shade no more. O Thou eternal Ruler, Who holdest in Thine arm The tempests of the ocean, Protect them from all harm! Thy presence, Lord, be with them, Wherever they may be; Though far from us who love them, Still let them be with Thee.

  Sometimes I hear strange music, Like none e’er heard before, Come floating softly earthward As thro’ Heav’n’s open door: It seems like angel voices, In strains of joy and love, That swell the mighty chorus Around the throne above. Refrain O sweet, celestial music, Heard from a land afar— The song of Heav’n and Homeland, Thro’ doors God leaves ajar! Now soft, and low, and restful, It floods my soul with peace, As if God’s benediction Bade all earth’s troubles cease. Then, grander than the voices Of wind, and wave, and sea— It fills the dome of Heaven With glorious harmony. Refrain This music haunts me ever, Like something heard in dreams— It seems to catch the cadence Of heav’nly winds and streams. • [Isa 40:9] Jerusalem, Lift Up Thy Voice

  Jerusalem, lift up thy voice! Daughter of Zion, now rejoice! Thy King is come, whose mighty hand Henceforth shall reign o’er every land. He comes to every tribe and race, A Messenger of truth and grace: With peace He comes from Heaven above On earth to found His realm of love. In God’s eternal covenant, He comes for our salvation sent. The star of hope moves on before, And hosts assemble to adore. Let all the world with one accord Now hail the coming of the Lord: Praise to the Prince of heavenly birth Who bringeth peace to all the earth.
