Hosea 5:14

then I will carry them off, and no one will be able to rescue them!
Hosea 7:13
Context7:13 Woe to them! For they have fled from me!
Destruction to them! For they have rebelled against me!
I want to deliver 1 them,
but they have lied to me.
Hosea 9:15
Context9:15 Because of all their evil in Gilgal,

On account of their evil deeds,

I will no longer love them;
all their rulers are rebels.
Hosea 13:8
Context13:8 I will attack them like a bear robbed of her cubs –

like a wild animal would tear them apart.
Hosea 14:9
Context14:9 Who is wise?
Let him discern 3 these things!
Who is discerning?
Let him understand them!
For the ways of the Lord are right;
the godly walk in them,
but in them the rebellious stumble.
1 tn Heb “redeem” (so NAB, NASB, NIV, NRSV, NLT); NCV, TEV “save”; CEV “I would have rescued them.”
2 tn Heb “out of my house” (so NAB, NASB, NIV, NRSV); TEV, NCV, NLT “my land.”
3 tn The shortened form of the prefix-conjugation verb וְיָבֵן (vÿyaven) indicates that it is a jussive rather than an imperfect. When a jussive comes from a superior to an inferior, it may connote exhortation and instruction or advice and counsel. For the functions of the jussive, see IBHS 568-70 §34.3.
