Hebrews 4:10-11

• [Heb 4:11] O Where Shall Rest Be Found?

  O where shall rest be found, Rest for the weary soul? ’Twere vain the ocean’s depths to sound, Or pierce to either pole. The world can never give The bliss for which we sigh; ’Tis not the whole of life to live, Nor all of death to die. Beyond this vale of tears, There is a life above, Unmeasured by the flight of years, And all that life is love. There is a death, whose pang Outlasts the fleeting breath: O what eternal horrors hang Around the second death! Lord God of truth and grace, Teach us that death to shun; Lest we be banished from Thy face, And evermore undone. Here would we end our quest: Alone are found in Thee, The life of perfect love—the rest Of immortality.

  When faint and weary toiling, The sweat-drops on my brow, I long to rest for labor, To drop the burden now— There comes a gentle chiding, To quell each mourning sigh: “Work while the day is shining, There’s resting by and by.” Refrain Resting by and by, There’s resting by and by; We shall not always labor, We shall not always cry; The end is drawing nearer, The end for which we sigh; We’ll lay our heavy burdens down, There’s resting by and by. This life to toil is given, And he improves it best Who seeks by patient labor To enter into rest; Then pilgrim, worn and weary, Press on, the goal is nigh; The prize is straight before thee, There’s resting by and by. Refrain Nor ask when overburdened, You long for friendly aid, “Why idle stands my brother, No yoke upon him laid?” The Master bids him tarry; And dare you ask Him why? “Go labor in My vineyard, There’s resting by and by.” Refrain Wan reaper in the harvest, Let this thy strength sustain, Each sheaf that fills the garner Brings you eternal gain; Then bear the cross with patience, To fields of duty hie; ’Tis sweet to work for Jesus— There’s resting by and by. Hebrews 10:12

• [Heb 10:12] Come, All Harmonious Tongues

  Come, all harmonious tongues, Your noblest music bring; ’Tis Christ the everlasting God, And Christ the man, we sing. Tell how He took our flesh, To take away our guilt; Sing the dear drops of sacred blood That hellish monsters spilt. Alas! the cruel spear Went deep into His side, And the rich flood of purple gore Their murderous weapons dyed. The waves of swelling grief Did o’er His bosom roll, And mountains of almighty wrath Lay heavy on His soul. Down to the shades of death He bowed His smitten head; Yet He arose to live and reign When death itself is dead. No more the bloody spear, The cross and nails no more; For hell itself shakes at His Name, And all the heav’ns adore. There the Redeemer sits High on the Father’s throne; The Father lays His vengeance by, And smiles upon His Son. There His full glories shine With uncreated rays, And bless His saints and angels’ eyes To everlasting days.

Hebrews 11:6

• [Heb 11:6] Come Believing!

  Once again the Gospel message From the Savior you have heard; Will you heed the invitation? Will you turn and seek the Lord? Refrain Come believing! come believing! Come to Jesus! look and live! Come believing! come believing! Come to Jesus! look and live! Many summers you have wasted, Ripened harvests you have seen; Winter snows by spring have melted, Yet you linger in your sin. Refrain Jesus for your choice is waiting; Tarry not: at once decide! While the Spirit now is striving, Yield, and seek the Savior’s side. Refrain Cease of fitness to be thinking; Do not longer try to feel; It is trusting, and not feeling, That will give the Spirit’s seal. Refrain Let your will to God be given, Trust in Christ’s atoning blood; Look to Jesus now in Heaven, Rest on His unchanging Word. Refrain

Hebrews 11:27-28

• [Heb 11:27] Church Of God A Kingdom Is, The

  The Church of God a kingdom is, Where Christ in power doth reign; Where spirits yearn till, seen in bliss, Their Lord shall come again. Glad companies of saints possess This Church below, above; And God’s perpetual calm doth bless Their paradise of love. An altar stands within the shrine Whereon, once sacrificed, Is set, immaculate, divine, The Lamb of God, the Christ. There rich and poor, from countless lands, Praise God on mystic rood; There nations reach forth holy hands To take God’s holy food. There pure life-giving streams o’erflow The sower’s garden-ground: And faith and love fair blossoms show, And fruits of love abound. O King, O Christ, this endless grace To us and all men bring, To see the vision of Thy face In joy, O Christ, our King.
